All I listen to now is Hollywood Prospectus. Agree on Firewall and Iceberg. Couldn't stand Fienberg most of the time, but I liked knowing when new shows were debuting and what they thought of ones I liked that were returning. Ryan and Ryan annoy me because it feels like they want to be contrarians just for the sake of it. Plus Ryan McGee just annoyed the hell out of me.
Yeah. I just got to the point where I was pretty good at figuring out how much I would like the show based how Sepinwall felt and exactly how much whining and what kind of whining Fienberg did about it. FYI - Alan was on the lastest Ryan and Ryan. He and Mo talked Top 10 lists. Nothing special, but if your miss Alan in podcast form it's aight.
TVMoJoe There were 409 original scripted TV shows produced for American TV in 2015-- a record number, and up from 376 last year. Source: FX Research 12/16/15, 2:00 PM
Good piece on streaming shows essentially being a different medium of storytelling: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/20/a...-just-a-new-way-to-watch-its-a-new-genre.html Good points on the lack of a great drama on the Netflix, Amazon, etc.'s of the world. Orange felt close, but seasons 2 and 3 weren't as good as 1. And at times you could say it's actually a comedy.

moryan If you liked #TheJinx #Serial #MakingAMurderer, you MUST watch The Staircase. Will be on @SundanceTV site starting Friday. 100% mesmerizing. 1/14/16, 11:13 AM
If your first season order is cut down isn't that a pretty good indication it's getting canceled? I think I only remember one show not getting canceled after a reduced order ( which I can't remember the name of as I type this).
Yeah. Basically they're giving them a chance to wrap up the story. Barring a miracle uptick in ratings, it's on death row
It may be out there already. I think it's a re-air. She tweeted more about it. Said it was the OG true-crime series. I assume its a few years old at least.

The Get Down looks good from the preview I posted a few posts up. I like Will Arnett. Will have to wait to see what the previews look like for that too.
Ive been following the TCA's on twitter this week. A lot of the other network execs have their jimmies in a bunch because NF didnt or wont release viewing numbers for their shows. I found that pretty funny. Worry about your own crap network.
Ha - and just as soon as I posted that -- Snoodit Netflix’s Ted Sarandos: “Why would NBC use their lunch slot to talk about our ratings? …Maybe it’s more fun than talking about NBC ratings." 1/17/16, 10:45 AM
I wonder how much Netflix could inflate those numbers by changing their auto play feature to match Hulu. I am pretty sure my wife would account for 3 viewings of each show the way she falls asleep 3 seconds in.
Ratings are pretty much irrelevant for the way Netflix does business. Not sure why networks care so much about those numbers.
hey guys why do taxi companies care so much about how much Uber is making? hey guys why do hotel services care so much about what airbnb is doing? hey guys why do these artists care so much about what spotify is doing?
Is "Format: Hybrid" CBS's way of Frenching up their multi-camera bullshit? There's a lot of projects from quality TV people in there but none of them jump off the page except for Powerless.
Valentines Day is a frenzy Vinyl and LWT for us HBO folks Walking Dead for the billions of people who like shitty zombie TV and then Adele for all the sad and lonely women
I'm ready for some shows. Been pretty empty lately. Happy Shameless returned recently. I'm excited for The People v. OJ Vinyl (kind of weary on this, but I'm holding out hope that it's really good) Last Week Tonight Better Call Saul Love
