Ive had it since launch. I just like to play these games different. I strike out and explore, try to find all the cool secrets and the fun side quests. Sadly, theres little of both in this game. I've been burnt out on it for a while but once or twice a week I turn it on and just try and finish it. Usually takes about half an hour and im bored silly. Last night was the final straw. Just a piss poor game. Never been so disappointed by a game
i like it, but was similarly disappointed in the quests. exploration wasn't as satisfying or as immersive as it was in past games (in part because it feels like there's no actual "wasteland' and you're discovering stuff every 14 seconds). feel like bethesda is going for an mmo feel to their single player games and i don't get it
So far I've helped a bunch of robot sailors launch a rocket powered 19th century naval vessel, picked sides of a heist/power struggle in goodneighbor, cosplayed as a superhero/vigilante, found a chinese submarine that launches nukes for me, and stolen Cthulu's knife. And like you, I haven't even stepped foot inside the institute yet, meaning I have, literally, the entire mid to end game for all 4 factions left to go. I'm not dismissing every complaint out of hand or calling the game flawless by any means, but a lot of your issues seem to ring hollow when you've barely scratched the surface of the main story. We're probably just very different people. I feel like the fallout boy in your avatar should be crying, or at least giving a thumbs down.
A sub? Where the hell is that? Also I really each to murk everyone in good neighbor and the brotherhood's
Walk along the harbor docks S/SE of the shamrock taphouse and look for a little kid to talk to. He'll tell you he sees a monster in the water and it starts a side quest called "Here there be monsters" Spoiler Once complete the chinese sub captain will give you homing beacons you can use like the artillery grenades and he'll send out a nuke for you. He only gave me three of them though, and I'm not sure if there is any way to get more, so kind of a novelty item.
I like the new update except for one thing. They took away the duplicating shipments glitch using Dogmeat. I was halfway done with my Palacio Real on Spectacle Island and now it will take significantly a lot longer to finish. I got fed up with it not working and ended up starting a new high luck/strength character to utilize idiot savant to the fullest.
What type of weapons you planning on using? With the strength in there I'm assuming some melee, which sounded really fun to me as well. Although glancing at the perk chart, big leagues only requires a little strength, and blitz requires a lot of agility so maybe not. Just curious.
I saw some builds for stealth melee types (using either Kremvth's blade or pickmans knife for early levels) That revolved around the blitz mechanic allowing you to sneak around and basically teleport around the screen stabbing the shit out of people, and since blitz utilizes vats, it was constantly stockpiling crits from the luck tree. Seemed like a lot of fun but a little too similar to my current build, so wasn't high on my list of builds to try. Also saw some minor complaints about the blitz mechanic being a bit unrealistic (which it is, if you care about that sort of thing) Obviously any melee build would need at least a fair bit of strength for blacksmith anyway, so could be compatible, go super low perception since you're not really using guns, and low intelligence to maximize savant triggers. Possibly even dumb enough to get some genuinely silly conversation options. Just thinking out loud.
Yea currently level 7 thanks to idiot savant, I will have to look at that Blitz. I don't know how long I will last with the character, was more of a knee jerk reaction since Bethesda made my settlement building more of a hassle, I will probably go back and finish my Palacio Real.
Ive done all those things. Ive played yhe game 100 plus hours. I just thinks its awful. All those missions you mention (sans the sub) weren't interesting at all. I feel like they stripped down the fun rpg elements, the quest variation and the rewards for exploring. Its blows my mind that theres like 5000 unique weapons and all are rendered useless at an upgrade station. Kinda kills the fun of discovery, no? Its essentially fallout, without the fun stuff and a bright coat of paint. Oh, and a shitty minecraft add on. But its cool if you like it, or anyone else for that matter. I just can't like it. Its the video game equivalent of ambien Edit: also, why is every dialogue option 'yes'? It yes sarcastically at worst. There's no way to be a true scumbag in this game or even tell someone to fuck off. /end rant You can have your thread back
Was putting a wood base across all of Spectacle Island to make one entire flat surface and began building one side of the outside walls (using concrete foundation) and also added a tower on that side to the height limit. I have used all the resources of all my other settlements and then discovered the duplicate shipment glitch. I am probably between 1/3 to half finished but then they removed the glitch, so needless to say it is probably an impossibility at this point due to the amount of resources and time. I am so disappoint
There is not much around, especially for any massive build. I would usually buy a shipment at Abernathy Farm and then duplicate 100x, not any longer unless I find another easy glitch Edit: I also used a lot of concrete when I made the Castle walls 5 stories tall, unfortunately you don't get any concrete back when you scrap them, which doesn't make since. Pissed me off but I really needed all the wood I could get at the time.
Finally finished the game. It was a lot of fun but maybe the least fun of the 3 next gen fallout games. I think its because I didn't really like any faction except the minutemen and they were kind of an afterthought by the end of the game. Gray areas of games are fun, but I feel like the player needs be given a good, evil, and neutral path to choose in the end. I don't feel the player was presented with those choices in this game and as such the ending was pretty blah and left me unsatisfied.
DLC details and a price hike if you didn't buy the season pass yet: http://siliconangle.com/blog/2016/0...details-and-announces-season-pass-price-hike/
The only one I would want is the workshop. Never done a season pass before on a game, what the hell is it, sounds like a lofty scam
I have a 5 story building in the island, that's the biggest I've been able to manage. It does have two wrap around porches though.
I mean they'll at least give you more value than the prize of the season pass but if you dont really care about half the dlc then it could be a bad deal.
So price for the season pass goes up $20 after next week. Apparently theses 3 are not the only DLC this year, ergo the price hike. Article said if you pay the 30 before March you still get everything this year.
could someone please give me a reason to choose a faction. I get the whole role-playing aspect, but trying to choose between RR and brotherhood just makes me want to sigh. I've ruled out the institute even though it makes the most sense from a 'help the wasteland' angle because I just can't get behind helping the group that murdered my wife and took my kid right in front of me. I'm sort of leaning brotherhood, but they're such giant assholes.
You definitely save money if youre set on buying all DLCs for the game in question. If not, its probably not worth the investment.
Anyone else fucked around with affinity perks or companion quests? I generally hate companions because I sneak, but that makes deacons perk quite nice, I wish I had gotten pipers earlier just for the levels, and macready's still seems useful even after it got nerfed. Maybe this is all old news to folks who like companions, but I hate em, so it's a new area for me. I only got interested because I picked up a damn eddie winter holotape, and learned I have to deal with that mechanic if I want to get it out of my inventory.
DLC pass is worth it because they will release several meaty DLCs I have high charisma and a sweet +3 charisma suit, pretty much get what I want. Really enjoy good neighbor.
I'm only 20 or so hours in but I love it. different than the others but still really really fun. not into building or crafting, maybe later. just enjoying the wasteland
Bought it the other day. I think it'll be more than worth it. Bethesda is fantastic at adding tons of content.
I ended up buying it too. I need to power through and finish the game. I decided to just start ignoring settlements. My first move was to massacre Abernathy farm.
I think Asimov would love codsworth. Should I really feel sympathy for an artificial construct? I want to give it a hug, but would it actually care? It's a tragic story if I think about it as human, but, should I? #existentialfallout
