Just started listening to recent episodes in the last couple of weeks. He fucking kills me, I'm surprised I haven't had a wreck from driving off the road while laughing my ass off.
Truman my podcast game is going next level now that I got a new vehicle with Bluetooth. I'll give marek vs Wysh a shot
Nice. As I said in the hockey thread - they're kind of dorky, but I like that the discuss a wide variety of NHL topics and not just the mainstream ones. And the have a lot of beat writers on to discuss their local teams which I enjoy
Not complaining but my drive to work is just short enough that I can't finish full episodes and I don't like cliffhangers.
Really? Depending on what I'm doing, it makes me much more productive. I can't listen if I have to think, but sometimes when I'm formatting or doing something mundane, podcasting helps immensely. (Unfortunately... Well, fortunately, I don't have mindless shit to do that often)
Problem I've been having lately is I'll be listening to an interesting podcast which has me thinking, digesting new ideas/viewpoints. Then I'll get where im going and the conversation is much more mundane. And unsurprisingly, people don't wanna talk about the podcast I was listening to. I hate the small talk.
Yea...I just don't have many tasks that don't require me to think. Interestingly enough, I've been listening to them while I clean my house and I feel like I get more done and can clean longer because there's something I can listen to but no TV that I need to watch.
I've been saying this for years (Though mainly for audiobooks). I listen when I cook, clean, and even workout (though if I'm running, I'll switch to music if concentration is needed). If the book or podcast is very good I'll be much more productive in those 3 areas because it's hard to just sit and listen without doing anything else.
Not sure if already discussed, but the Presidential podcast is pretty good. 30 to 45 minute podcasts on each President and kind of "what made them to be the way they were" and how they are viewed today. Definitely not about how they became President, their policy choices, etc. Kind of a different view on the office. I like it so far, but it did have one of my biggest podcast pet peeves - a whole introduction to the podcast itself from the narrator baked into the first podcast itself. Just make an intro podcast please!

Fully up to date on Black Tapes... Looking for another, so started Pleasure Town today. First 2 eps are so-so -- they are well-made, but the story isn't really interesting me all that much. I'll give it a few more eps and call it if I'm still meh on it. Too much out there to listen to for wasting time on mediocre podcasts.
Tried Wormwood and Wolf 359 before finally caving and just listening to Tanis. Black Tapes may be the GOAT.
Just like True Detective Season 1, it's hard to top. I actually enjoy season 2 of Serial but not nearly as much as season 1. Not even in the same realm.
I don't find the Serial S2 story particularly intriguing. I only keep listening because I sit at a desk for 10-12 hours a day and need something to listen to.
My favorite part of the entire podcast was the Timies describing how Todd Risedale stopped Dorthax from destroying time..."uh....Todd Risedale threw a big ole net on em!"
Ok guys give me 2-3 comedy/entertainment/sports good podcasts to listen too. Have only listened to HDTGM. I will hand out multiple likes for your time
You don't necessarily have to. Listening to past Year End Best of episodes is a good start, or just listen to episodes featuring some of your favorite people. Paul F Tompkins and Andy Daly are by far the funniest people on, imo. But there are gems from all over. Such as:
he is incredible, kid detectives 2 killed me. at the 21 min mark when lapkus just out of nowhere says "there is a million things i havent done just you wait" i died
Darkness Radio (Paranormal bullshit and whatnot) Expanding Mind Improbable Research Where Did The Road Go? (Paranormal bullshit and whatnot) The Biggest Problem In The Universe Lowe Post [NBA] The Starters [NBA] Trailer Park Boys Podcast
It's great if you don't listen so you can add that. I really think Never Not Funny would be right up your alley.
I've tried getting into Burr's podcast(s) but something about his shit-eating witty brand of bafoonery makes me me wish I could knock a couple of his teeth down his throat after a while and I turn it off. He apparently has this effect on no one but me.
Gourley is the best companion piece with someone else. Best Supporting Actor if you will. Alone? Good not great. With PFT or Andy Daly...mother fucking lethal. Also, the Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project is amazing. In particular, Eye on Theatre and The Travel Bug
