Was going to Gamefly it, and realized I had to own it. Preordered off Amazon with Amazon Prime got 20% off( 48 bucks with free shipping) I can live with 48 bucks for this game. Got the Day 1 edition which comes with the Soundtrack and strategy guide. I just want the guide for the artwork. If you have prime you can get 20% off games you preorder through Amazon (not including digital) and also 20% up to 2 weeks after the game is released.
This release has really killed a lot of my excitement off. Can't wait to get invaded by people who have been playing for a month.
Dusted off the ole 360 and starting a new play through of Dark Souls, it has been ages since I played this.
The reviews are insane rn. Meta score drug down by a couple of odd reviews. I'm so ready for this. Bloodborne was easily the most fun I've had this generation and I know that this gonna be even better. Plz htfu Tuesday
What review site do you guys have the most trust in? I used to like IGN but they've had some inexplicable scores for a while now.
I just pay attention to the aggregate scores. Ign and GI normally are OK with me though but I really tend to agree with the guardian
I don't trust most reviews anymore. I just find gameplay videos and watch for myself. The general internet discussion is enough to give me the gist of a game, watching it in action helps make the final decision to try it or not.
Not sure it really matters on the reviews of a Souls game for me. They would all have to be universally awful for me to not buy the game.
Going Pyro for sure. Had always played full on caster in the other DS games, but Bloodborne made me get used to combat. Pyro seems like a nice in between.
I really wish I could hang with yall I tried to play Demon's Souls and Dark Souls but they're both just incredibly hard and I spend hours doing the same shit over and over. Easily the hardest games I've ever played
i think i'm going to go deprived with either a dex/int build or str. i always go dex/int but pure strength seems fairly appealing this time (hopefully parry timing is easier than ds2). regardless, definitely going deprived.
i'm not very keen on things that require practice or effort. eventually i decided these games were worth both.
I mean not many games now adays feel like you accomplished something when you beat a boss or area. Every shortcut opened or boss defeated in DS games is such a great feeling.
I'm gonna be playing Drunk Souls tonight where when anyone in my PS party dies, we drink. This is the prepare to die edition of drunk souls
Bloodborne was a dissapointment on that front. We had an 8 man party full of vets and barely got drunk. We gonna have a rookie in the group this year and I plan on getting obliterated
The trick is to drink a bit before starting the game then you get destroyed also drink when you want too . I went through over half a bottle of Makers Mark.
I watched you stream it. This fucking guy was trying to get through the entire 1st level using just his fists, didn't even pick up the weapons on the steps from back at the shrine until he was 20 deaths in. I'm trying to knock out the last part of Old Hunters before release tonight, but stuck on Lady Maria of the Clocktower. Best rule of From Software, if the boss is the same size as you, you're going to have a bad time. Doing 10 push ups per death instead of shots, it's not going to be half as fun.
And for everyone, try and use spoiler tags for stuff starting tonight. At least for bosses or secret areas, made it 3 weeks without knowing too much so if anyone blazes through the game by Friday, don't fuck it up for everyone else.
Won't get mine till tomorrow hopefully the mailman doesn't wait till 8 to get it here, but probably won't play till Wed since I work 3-11 tomorrow.
i'm not proud of how much time i spent wandering around firelink before i realized the way out was through the bonfire.
it's pretty terrible how many times i died before reaching Spoiler firelink they really made it more difficult to start as deprived.
I made it up to Spoiler the giant tree boss before pulling the plug on Pyro for now. I think it's something to add late game, the targeting on certain bosses like that increases the difficulty so much early on, I'm just going to sword and board it first playthough, go full pyro in NG+. Playing so much Bloodborne kind of makes casting pretty boring.
