Yeah, who knew a tiny piece of titanium, small ball bearings and a chunk of quality steel could run so much.
I'll be the first to admit I don't know dick about knives. All these different knife companies are right in my back yard. Still interested in one of the Benchmades, just felt inferior to the ZT which was $50 more. What are some other brands to look for? I feel like I should have another knife or 6.
Looking for a new carry gun. Currently have a sig P938. Want to go to something striker fire. Probably going to go with a Springfield XD or Glock. Any opinions on either? Probably going to stick with a 9mm.
I have a Gerber and Sog, don't really use either one much as I've always favored my Boker. I don't understand the big hole in the Spyderco blades.
Honestly, because I don't have a striker fire gun yet. I'll still keep my sig, because I love that fucking gun, but I want something different too. My brother is a Deputy and a huge glock fanboy so I've had him whispering in my ear about them for the last month.
If you've never owned a Glock I'd go that route, everyone should do so at least once. They have better resell value than XD's although I prefer the Springfield.
It's give and take when it comes to knives because the cost can get outrageous. I try to shop based off of where the knife is manufactured. It's a weird quirk but a knife is ultimately a tool and I want that tool to last. My go to knife is a Kershaw Leek. I love them and they will not break your bank. Last Christmas I got a Lionsteel SR2a. It's Italian made and really nice and sharpens easily. I also, for whatever reason try to buy D2 steel. It's very solid but a bitch to sharpen. You'll know a good knife when you see it but there is a ton of crap out there. Benchmades are no joke they are just not what they used to be.
Been thinking of a new carry piece. Currently got the MP shield, and have some big dots on the way. I want to get a 380, my bro has a G42 but it feels like a pea shooter and I already own a Glock. I'd prefer DA over striker this time around so I can get used to the platform. THe Bersa Thunder is first on my to shoot. Money is always an option but I can swing about up to $600. Any suggestions of a reliable 380 for around $500. Sig? Kimber? Thanks guys.
Nothing more can be said about a Glock 19. I carry it when I want 16 rounds. I haven't shot the G43 but I also carry the MP Shield which is also great aside from the crunchy trigger. Never shot an XD but I'm not a fan of the design.
My brother got me the hookup through some rewards program where he works and got me a Barska Biometric box for nothing.
On the 380, the new LCP is getting a lot of good reviews. They improved the trigger and everything people were bitching about. For a pocket gun that consistently handles hollow points you dont really need much more.
Bought a G43 over the weekend mainly as a pocket carry when I can't/don't want to put something on my hip. There is nothing like a glock tbh.
Haven't bought ammo online in a couple years, when I did I used gunbot.net Is that still the best place or should I look elsewhere?
Whenever you want fool. I don't have much extra ammo for my glock or 1911 right now but i have a few hundred rounds of .223 we can sling.
I picked up a Kahr PM9 with a pocket holster this summer. Awesome package for tshirt and shorts carry. Love that it's cooling off, when it's hoodie weather I switch from IWB to OWB, much more comfortable.
in Philly you need a license to carry concealed. If you don't have the concealed licence you're probably gonna have to walk around with your gun showing. Open Carry is legal, more specifically. A Philly cop will totally get in your shit if you play around with what you consider concealed.
Nah I'm just not being clear. I would say that's carrying concealed. Which is ok if you have the license. If not you'd have to have it open carry.
for the guys in here that carry, do you have jobs where you are not allowed to have your firearm in the workspace. If so how do you adjust? I basically travel with it but lock it up in my car. Not ideal but it is what it is.
Where I am now doesn't disallow carry, and I travel most of the time anyway. If I had it to do over when I was at a place that didn't allow it, I would probably carry if I could ensure a good conceal. The only way they would ever know I had it was if I needed it. Life>Job
I used to work in a building like that so I just carried it in my laptop bag regardless of their policy.
We don't allow firearms on property here. If I felt like I needed to carry my gun to work, I'd probably look for a new job. That's just me though.
If we had advance notice as to when we might need our firearm, we probably wouldn't "need" to carry at all.
I'm not judging you. I'm just stating my opinion on carrying a firearm to work. Not too mention it's damn sure not worth losing my job over if I ever got caught with it.
If I were in my 20's and had no kids I'd probably carry all the time. Like most people I can't risk my job which is Federal and they wouldn't think twice about letting me go for breaking a Federal Law.
Work at a school so no taking it in the building, but I lock it up in my truck. We have armed security on campus though .
We aren't even allowed to keep them in the parking lot. I remember at Siemens one time, one of our engineers went to a range on the weekend. Come Monday morning he strolls in to work (at a nuke plant) with the same book bag he took to the range. Goes through the x-rays and explosive detectors, gets to his desk and sees his pistol in the book bag. That was a cluster fuck to get calmed down without people going to jail.
