There are some good blogs out there that compare the mattresses with higher end equivalents so you can at least go out there and lay on them to get an idea. I found that I don't like the full memory foam so I went with a hybrid (half spring half memory foam). Decided on the Crave Mattress and am super happy. Heavy as shit though.
Im a TN guy, girl said that we're using it rather than her mattress when she moves in. There is a mattress thread on here.
I'm not sure I could buy a mattress without laying on it. No matter how good the reviews are. Do they have any show rooms in major cities?
Have the tuft and needle king. It's very comfortable and was only $750 skiedfrillet has the same one and also loves it
Had a $$$ Stearns and Foster that was pocketed coil with latex + memory foam comfort layers. Over time we found it too soft, and it started to sag but not enough for warranty, had it for about 3 or 4 years. We went to NYC and laid on a Casper, they have a show room there, but wife and I both felt that it basically felt the same as the Stearns and Foster so we passed on that, take it for what its worth. After this we ordered a Tuft and Needle. Its not perfect, just a touch too firm for me, but its pretty good overall and was great for the money. We kept it and have had it for close to a year now. Wife likes it as well. We also have a Westin heavenly bed in the guest bedroom. That thing is super comfortable but was also $$$. Only a queen size or that would be our actual mattress.
Not sure if serious but they just end up arranging for a charity to come pick it up and, I'm guessing, take the tax write off.
Wife and I got a king Leesa in June and love it. No idea about the longevity but it's awesome for now
i heard it was like salvation army or goodwill kinda wish i could catch a return at one of their stores just to know how much they sell them "used" for
Casper King here and love it. I rotate it every 3 months or so so the same patterns don't get worn in. Pretty comfortable.
Check out Ghostbed (https://www.ghostbed.com). We've had it for a few months and love it. A little firmer than Casper as this has a latex top layer vs memory foam on Casper. A good resource about these types of beds can be found here (http://www.themattressunderground.c...-universal-comfort-millennial-mattresses.html). Provides you with a breakdown of the materials used to help those made with lower quality materials.
Have a Queen casper. Really like it. Recently got a Lull king and it is amazing. A touch softer and sleeps much cooler. Highly recommend the Lull.
Hopefully moving this week. Ordered a king Saatva bed for the new place. I'll report back with review.
Saatva was delivered yesterday. I'm a side sleeper but laid on it for the first time on my back and fell dead asleep within a few minutes. It's the only mattress of this class that has coils, so you kind of sink into it, but it's supportive. Big fan so far.
Got a Tuft&Needle queen about 18 months ago after having a Tempurpedic for ten years, which we liked very much. Love the T&N, for less than half the price. It's not nearly as heavy as the Tempurpedic, and it breathes better. Not nearly as hot. Middle son now uses the Tempurpedic, and he has trouble sleeping on anything else because he likes it so much. We'll probably get T&N twins for our other boys at some point.
In the market for a new mattress. Leesa and Tuft & Needle seem to be where I'm leaning. Any more opinions/updates?
Casper sleeper here. I slept on an amazing Seely pillow top with a featherbed and felt conflicted. As it stands I love my bed but...
I had a queen Casper and have a king Leesa. Leesa is a bit more firm than Casper but I enjoyed both of the mattresses. Get a little pillowtop mattress protector and you're golden.
I liked the TN mattress but my wife thought it was firm. We wound up returning it and going with the Purple mattress. Two weeks in and much happier. Much softer but not unsupportive.
Been doing a good bit of research and pulled the trigger on the dromma medium firm today, will report back. Also needed some new pillows and these were the top pick on several lists so grabbed a couple of them too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EINBSJ2/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
