I'd venture to guess that's due to all those Baptists / Bible Beaters that oppose a show due to it not following creationist principles versus people not watching the show because its brand of comedy is too simple for their tastes.
Like Mississippi having the best childhood vaccination rates, we shouldn't attack the south when they accidentally get something right. We should encourage it.
Spoiler We are 61 out of 162, btw. We're closer to Nigeria or Palestine's score than we are to Iceland, Japan, or Canada's score. http://economicsandpeace.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/GPI-2016-Report_2.pdf
I worked grounds maintenance for a few summers at my alma mater during HS and college, the trash truck fell under grounds duties. When we did trash pick up from the dining hall it was pretty eye opening. Giant garbage bags full of food that was never touched, and this was when the only people on campus on a regular basis were faculty, staff, and a maybe 200 summer school students. Picked up one garbage bag that probably weighed 50 lbs of nothing but untouched chicken tenders. And their policy was you couldn't take food out of the dining hall if you dined in. Never understood that when they were throwing away hundreds of pounds of food every day. They easily could have kept that food refrigerated and sent it off to a local homeless shelter or something like that.
I always get my leftovers to go at a restaurant unless it's entirely inconvenient or if it's a perishable food and I won't be able to keep it cold for a few hours until I can get it in a fridge. Unless I'm eating some junk from fast food, the food costs too much to just throw away
And Wish being valued at least a billion is kinda mind blowing. I bought two things off there one time because they legitimately have some neat looking stuff on the cheap, but it was complete fucking junk. No truer case of you get what you pay for.
Wow, I never would've guessed MongoDB and Flatiron were valued at a billion dollars. An investor I know put some money into Mongo but that was only pry like 3 years ago.
Domo has a product in the Business Intelligence space that is a ghost and barely anyone has seen it. They just have huge investors. Product isnt good at all and I doubt they have the sales to back up that valuation.
Interactive: Least Affordable Housing in the U.S. How Large are Incomes In Each US County Compared to the Value of the Homes? http://www.visualcapitalist.com/least-affordable-housing-interactive/
It looks like there are a lot of places in rural TX where you can buy a home for about what you would make in a year. Winkler County, TX - Median Income 56k, average home price 45k Mitchell County, TX - Median Income 50k, average home price 49k King County, TX - Median Income 63k, average home price 73k Borden County, TX - Median Income 74k, average home price 84k
Interesting that the product isn't good. The company I left earlier this year dabbled in the business analytics space and Domo came out last year with a ton of buzz but little information known about their solution. Uptake (mfg IoT analytics) is another company that won't ever hit that value. They only have one large client (Caterpillar - who is also an investor) but haven't been able to expand outside of that over the last year.
Far far west Texas. Some of those counties have like 1000 people in them and/ or are pretty mixing covered by a handful of ranches. Although it's hard to interpret how that would impact this data.
Big bang recently had a storyline about someone getting pregnant and ended up taking a squarely pro life point of view, which surprised me. I dont watch it either way, tbh.
My alma mater checking in with a <1%/30.1%, surprising given it costs over $45K a year at the cheapest for a residential student with mediocre financial aid. Guess it produces a lot of folks that are cool with being in debt up to their eyeballs upon graduation. Current employer is 6.1%/22.3%, also surprised we are able to get 22.3% in the bottom 20%, costs $55K a year for a full-time residential student
title of this one is : "How the uneven Obama recovery paved the way for Trump" this is showing the net change in jobs during the obama administration, by county. in my opinion -- this really has nothing to do with Obama's policies, but it is an interesting map nonetheless
If you looked at that map after Clinton and Bush's presidencies it would probably look pretty similar.
Who the hell types out "how to spell" when checking their spelling in google? Just type in your word and google tells you how it should be spelled.
