I love m&p's but unless you're a big dude those compacts are still a little large for concealing. The shield is better.
For me, any pig over 100 lbs. just isn't worth messing with. The smaller ones just taste better, period. The bigger they get, especially boars, the nastier they are - that's just me, though. I know plenty of people who'll eat them.
Is tinypic broke for anyone else? I've been hosting on some weird site because I haven't been able to get tinypic to upload a new photo in nearly a week.
Just bought a 9mm shield, very happy with it. Biggest complaint from most users is the trigger, but I'm fine with it. Get 100 range rounds and go shoot a shield, Springfield XDS, and the two Glocks. All great guns.
I ate many pigs back in college that I picked up at bars, all over 100lbs. Fully agree that the bigger they are the worse the taste and regret.
It is stock, very smooth, no click or whatever people were complaining about. TBH when you get to Sigs and HKs its all the same to me. Very short pull, smooth, you hit what you point at. Im probably not the best to ask about stuff like that, because they are all the same to me. I go more for practicality, like cost of mags, ease of repair etc. My brothers carry Sigs for LE. I lol every time they have to drop $40 on a new mag.
lol yeah that's a good point, who the fuck knows down there. So much money. I was reading an article the other day about how they are focusing a lot on Fentanyl now, so fucking scary.
So user Watasha's post of the gunned down hog got me into looking into guided shoots in Pennsy (good luck finding a wild pig in NJ) and at these prices. You boys down south have it so good sometimes.
I had 320 Carry in 9mm practically given to me... Great pistol overall. Really liked the trigger. It performed similar to my PPQ & was one piece, without the trigger-safety break. The bore-axis seemed ungodly high, yet the gun was well balanced. The modular system is cool, but the parts are difficult to find & expensive. There is very limited aftermarket, but that is likely to change with the new military contract. I sold it to a buddy, once I determined it wasn't going to replace the PPQ... which holds the "Expensive magazine, parts & limited aftermarket" place in my arsenal.
No, i actually kept the trigger itself and swapped out the rest with the Duty Carry Kit. It's a night and day difference.
Got my Eotechs in the mail today, fucking pumped! Not so thrilled to learn I have some sort of astigmatism. This may finally force me to go get my eyes checked.
Open Carry https://www.magpul.com/products/magpul-field-case-iphone-7 EDIT:Fuck still says coming soon
I own like 7 carry pistols. From g19 to the shield. It's funny but I end up carrying this in a front pocket 90% of the time.
I've gotten by with this spigen case, but damn do I miss the magpul case. Though I'm not sure what took them so long considering a new iPhone will be out in September.
Yes. The 7 came out in September 16, yet magpul just recently announced the 7 cases. In seven months the iPhone 8 will be released and it won't fit the case they waited over five months to release. I don't see why they are even going to make the 7 cases at this point. Most people who are going to get a 7 already have one and already have a case. I'm going to be real upset if magpul doesn't have their shit together for the iPhone 8 launch. I like my phone the same way I like my guns, od green.
I have one of the early DB9's and it jams way to much for me to consider carrying it. Thought about selling it but it didn't look like I would get enough to make it worth the trouble so it sits in the safe now.
I dont doubt it. This is a pretty early one as well. I have prob 500 rounds down range (its a guess I go to the range every other week and shoot 3 mags of FMJs and a mag of carry HPs through it) I never have had any failures with the +p defense ammo and few with the FMJs. It's not fun to shoot but for me its been reliable, accurate and super easy to carry. I think with the companies like Diamondback its their quality control from one piece to another that is sub par. I bought a G43 and its just a monster compared to the DB9 for carrying. If I am going anywhere "dangerous" I'll just take the G17 in an IWB. G43 is now a safe queen.
What type of firearm would you suggest for a person who is interested in getting one but owns nothing currently? Or what types of questions should I be asking myself
A 12ga pump shotgun was my first gun. They're about as simple a firearm as they come. Also a Ruger 10/22 is good because they have almost no recoil and ammo is so cheap that you can afford to stay at the range all day learning good firearm practices.
Goal is to increase familiarity and skill with guns. Mostly shooting at a range. I live in a city so not much backyard shooting, but I live a block away from a shooting range. I've shot clays and fired a few rifles in the past but that was a long time ago. Fiancee's parents live in the middle of nowhere and have a plethora of guns to experiment with when I visit.
The standard answer is shoot a bunch of firearms (rented) at the range and find one you like, yada yada yada. But if you're looking for suggestions it would be a G19.
The glock 19 is a great gun, but I'm not sure I'd start with a pistol as a first gun. I would suggest someone new to firearms get familiar with long guns first, then move to pistols.
First firearm I ever shot was a j frame 38 special and a Glock 17 (both my dads) and I've taught about 7 on the platform. Personally the difference between a long gun and a pistol was so large for me, I would start with whatever interested them more.
I love my eotech but I didn't like the look/feel of the magnifier so I just left it off. Use that one for my close range and the AR with the Nikon for my precision shots (well as precision as I get lol).
Everything. I don't have an opinion on starting with a pistol or rifle first. Go to the range and shoot both and see which you enjoy better, shoot better, etc. Also since you don't have many chances for backyard shooting, a big factor would be what do the ranges near you allow. Not all ranges (indoor mainly, some outdoors may do it too) allow a full range of rifles. If every range within 50 miles of you restricts AR's, than an AR wouldn't do you much good since you'll never shoot it.
