Do people who paint all religious folks with the same brush do it knowing how stupid it makes them sound or do they think they're actually on to something?
i am an atheist. I just think its douchey as fuck to come into a thread where 99% of its posters are religious and mock them. but please keep being a condescending cunt like you always are.
Went last night with my lady and her family (her father is Eucharistic minister). I got the fried, my girl got the baked and the cod was really good. Also just missed hitting the 50/50.
Giving up chocolates and candy at work (which has become a crutch), and giving up snacking/dessert after dinner (which I'm also bad about). Also committing to spend daily devotional time for reflection and etc. We operate on a budget, and my wife is abstaining from all discretionary spending during lent and will save that money and donate to charity. I thought that was a pretty good one.
See, after you post something like this I don't feel comfortable posting about giving up caviar and truffles for lent.
Off to a good start this year... My wife watched me make and eat bacon for breakfast. When I asked why she didn’t remind me she said she thought I was doing it on purpose. She obviously does not want to be stuck with me in the afterlife. Goal is to workout 35 times in 40 days.
I might eat at McDonalds four times a year and they’re all during Lent and it’s always double filet o fish. Today was one of those days.
Fuck Lent. I give up my sanity every year. I manage a restaurant that sells lots of fish so the owners make lots of money and we get our souls raped.
Just a casual bystander here but it appears that you could use the Whole30 diet that will break you of these bad eating habits you have gotten into.
Wife: I'm giving up Diet Coke (so all pop/soda/coke) Me: Ok... By the weekend she's drinking diet coke as a mixer.
I’m a 1 Diet Dr Pepper a day guy and been holding out strong so far quite easily to the point I might not go back to soda
I rarely attend anymore, but the Knights of Columbus at one of the parishes here does one every Friday during Lent. They have kegs.
We had kids spring break so I had no idea wat day it was / out of routine. Driving back and we stopped to get lunch at Wendy’s. After she mentioned it was Friday but didn’t want to deal with trying to find the kids non meat meals on the drive back. Me... well you could have told me. Dinner, BBQ. Soul.. hell.
Made these for dinner last night. Boy oh boy were they delicious https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2017/04/salmon-burgers-remoulade-fennel-slaw-recipe.html
Grilled cheese here. Giving up alcohol and sweets again. Survived last year, but we’ll see how we do this year.
how's everyone doing today? i went to the market and had no idea what i was going to do for dinner. ended up picking up a tomato, some basil, pesto and mozzarella cheese and made a caprese sandwich. not what i expected to be having, but turned out really good. will be doing that again. no sweets and no alcohol are going to be killer though
