Not really the same scene but some impeccable CGI here. Note the wildling to Beric's right having a heck of a fight against the air.
Read somewhere today that a spinoff is almost for sure in the works. Haven't confirmed if it's a prequel or a totally different story or whatever, but as some here have already mentioned, Robert's Rebellion would be awesome.
GRRM, at least, has said that's unlikely. So much of it would be already known and the eventual result wouldn't be surprising so it's not a good candidate. ASIOAF/GoT already basically tells that story too. Did see before that four separate spin offs are being written/conceived. Can probably expect just one of them to get the green light
Eh, that'd be some serious diminishing returns They'll prolly do one of the spinoffs and another independent bit from GRRM
I mean look at how the viewership is increasing every year they will roll out a spin-off every few years imo
Robert's Rebellion Aegon's Conquest Dance of Dragons Doom of Valeria Any one of those 4 would be cool
I've been pretty disappointed in Euron this season. He said in interviews before the season started that "he would make Ramsay look like a little kid." Started off strong, but I guess has just been sailing around since like episode 3.
So you want Arya to tell Sansa (who she's struggling to trust) that she is going to kill LF (best believe that is coming) and somehow think Sansa won't go running to LF ?
The Bobellion and the Doom of Valyria have already been ruled out. We already know everything that happened in the Bobellion anyways... except for one thing that's probably gonna bs revealed on Sunday
Maybe something about the First Men and the Children? Lay some foundation for the origin of all of this.
It's not a secret. It's a history of Westeros and Essos. Covers everything from the forming of Westeros and the first men coming to Westeros all the way to all 17 Targaryen kings and the cliff notes of their reign, as well as the history of each of the 7 kingdoms, the Doom and the major cities in Essos.
So, was the room that Little Finger "hid" Sansa's old letter to Robb, Little Finger's room or Sansa's / Ned and Catelyn's old room? I would think it strange that she would hide her masks in Little Finger's chambers.
Arya's dick drunk on Littlefinger's little finger and that is the explanation for her erratic behavior
I thought I heard they werent going to do Roberts Rebellion because everyone already knows how it turns out Would still be awesome to see
I think the Dance of Dragons and the Blackfyre rebellion would also be awesome to see both are Targ on Targ wars so there would be dragon on dragon violence
I think the rush has to do with them running out of source material They know the basics of how it finishes but not much in between
Yes. They commission like 50 artists. All the artwork you see on Wikipedia is in there and it's incredibld. It's a fantastic read. Fire and Blood Pt. 1 is coming out in November (on an expanded version of the Aenys I and Maegor I chapters, both sons of Aegon the Conqueror. My money is that they are developing a script for that)
All the dragons were dead by the blackfyre rebellion. It does have Daemon Blackfyre though who is undoubtedly the most badass character in Westeros' history.
I doubt they do the dance of dragons, that's likely too costly, one of the Blackfyre rebellion sounds like it's possible. I also wouldn't mind Robert's rebellion, even if the result is known it would still be great to see it played out and many non-book readers don't know too many of the details.
Yea youre right I thought that might have been the case after I made the post but yea would still be awesome to see
Daemon Blackfyre was a cunt who costed thousands of lives just for his own greed Daemon Targaryen was a badass
They didn't start out using dragonglass, though. In earlier buddybuddy dialogue scenes we see Tormund wielding a huge single-bladed metal axe. He uses it against the bear wight, to no effect, and gets a backhand swipe for his efforts. Even Beric's flaming sword does little to the bear, and only when Jorah runs in and stabs the bear in the back of the neck with dragonglass does it slump and stop fighting (can't say it dies, since it's already dead). Tormund switches to what looks like a great mace studded with dragonglass shards for the later wight fights. The Hound starts off the island defense using Gendry's hammer, then throws it down and pulls out what looked to me to be a dragonglass hand axe and dagger for close-quarters combat. The expendables all looked to have spears/glaives with dragonglass tips, which would be absolutely useless in a close melee. They look cool with them, but they weren't meant to survive anyway.
I understood the way it happened to be that if they all went towards the group, they would break the ice. When The Hound threw the rock, the wights realized that the ice would sustain them in smaller groups, rather than caving in. He was worried when the bear was attacking because it was on fire.
They really should have at least mentioned the weapons since they spent the time showing them mining the dragonglass. I'm sure it will be discussed more in later battles though.
I suspect that a few scenes were left on the cutting room floor having to do with the wight hunters discussing what worked and didn't work when fighting the wight bear, leading Tormund to discard his trusty steel axe in favor of the uglier dragonglass great mace. It seemed a little weird for him to be seen carrying the pretty steel axe when talking to the Hound about Brienne and Jon about Mance, then fighting later on with a completely different weapon without any direct explanation.
Would've been a much cooler scene and Better TV if they weren't under any distress and the dragons came in. Great point
Stannis showed up in the knick of time too right? Not that big of a deal. They need to have some suspense.
