In a couple weeks I start my half marathon training so I’ll be pulling back on the bike and run more.
Finally won a race (encore ride with smaller field). Wasn't an output record. Planned an easy ride, and was lazily riding along in 6th or so until the first climb. Turned up the resistance to around 66 and was watching baseball through climb. Looked down, and I had caught the early rabbits. Decided to make a push, got chased by someone 20 years younger from Davis, CA, and held on by about 28 after he/she closed it down to 15ish a couple times. I've ridden about the same output a few times and finished 2nd to 5th overall, but lost to some tramp-type by 60-100 kj. Thanks to a softer field this time, first win.
Why is the audio so low when paired with my AirPods? I read a fix is supposed to be to pair them with your phone and turn the volume all the way up, before pairing again with the bike. Didn’t help much. Same for increasing the volume on the bike itself.
No idea. Volume on my Taotronics works fine - nowhere near maxxed out. Their chat support is pretty good the couple times I tried it...did you ask them?
I have the powerbeat3 and the soundsport free. Both sound great the problem is the soundsports have an issue with syncing video with audio. Also fix your privacy setting so I can see how much I am whopping your candy ass by now
I’ve changed them so I’m not sure why it’s not showing up. You’ve got me by 4 miles right now, but I feel like shit so I’m not sure I can ride tonight.
83.6 I did some low impact stuff. Easy way to get in about 20 without too much strain. That and about 10min of stretching/yoga is good. I am taking a few days off next weekend so I am trying to ride every day until then.
Sick as a dog, but gutted out 23.5 miles to take the lead from Daniel Ocean (for now until he hops on the bike to get a few extra miles in), 85.4 to 83.6 miles. I want to die, but happy I did it.
Spoiler I probably won’t ride tomorrow since I may die in my sleep after riding sick tonight, so you’ll end up beating me by quite a bit.
If there’s one downside so far on the bike, it’s that I’ve become so obsessed that I haven’t lifted weights all week.
Do you have the app? It has a bunch of weight lifting workouts. You can get a nice workout in about 20 min.
I just do which ever but I like Oliver Lee, Chase Tucker and Alex T. Lee and Tucker do heavier weight and short breaks. Doing 2 10 min workouts back to back makes me feel the Bern. Using 15-20 pound dumbbells when they call for 3 pound ones also helps because it is 10 min without rest. Keep in mind it’s just to get something in not to get huge.
Geez. Went from 2nd to 7th. That escalated quickly. Im not fit enough to run and bike on the same day.
Same here, I try to run first but Its usually easier to convince myself to wake up and jump on the bike first rather than get dressed and go for a run.
Lol I wasn’t planning to ride but ended up doing 21.1, which put me at 106.7 for the week. I won’t be able to catch you though. Definitely not riding tomorrow.
Tomorrow is my long day. Hoping to get 30 in and if I drink probably 10 on Sunday. I want to thank you for the added motivation. Next week I am not riding on Saturday or Sunday so I hope you push me during the week.
I did the live DJ with Jess King ride yesterday. Three things: 1) I didn’t realize it had an arms section, which is a waste for me. I’m all about that output, and the lull from arms kills my final score. 2) The DJ is so lame. I’m trying to focus on Jess, and he’s dancing around like a mental patient. 3) Jess is so hot, and I would very much like to see her naked.
Couple of questions: 1. I think I saw somewhere that if you have Apple TV, you can move the videos to that instead of the screen in the bike, which would be great for the stretching, yoga, or other non bike/running workouts they offer. Can you do that with another device such as roku or sling? I’m pretty clueless with those things. 2. I’m about 50 pounds overweight and totally out of shape, so total beginner. I’m just randomly choosing rides based upon the music and 20-30 min length. I feel lost, really. I would love it if there was a specific plan that I could follow instead of me just picking random rides. Is there some sort of guide out there somewhere? I know at this point the fact I’m committing to just be on the bike is the most important thing, but I’d like some direction.
Don't know about the TVs options. Related to #3 I would suggest doing a power zone training program and doing a week or two of Matt's beginner/advanced beginner rides before. In my opinion he is the best at actually teaching good technique. However the power zone is meant for your fitness level, not just focusing on output, but improving your own fitness levels. Matt discusses these on his website which I have linked below: http://www.mattwilpers.com/peloton
Set your resistance to at least 60 and keep your cadence at 60. This will keep you with a decent output. Have a way to access about 10 pound dumbbells. This will be a nice little arm and shoulder workout on for when you haven’t lifted for a few days. 1. You can mirror your screen onto your tv if you have a device with that capability. I’ve dove it with my Samsung smart tv but I’ve had an issue with the audio. Peloton has IOS apps but not on android. Go to your Bluetooth settings on the bike screen and see if it finds your device. It might find your roku I am 99.9% sure that’s not how sling (it’s a service provider not a device) works so I doubt you’ll see that. 2. I don’t think there is a plan you can follow. But, if you’re looking to lose weight you want to do longer endurance classes with weight training 3-4 times a week. The most important thing you want is to “fix” is your diet. It will be hear impossible to lose weight just riding the bike. The instructors all have face book pages that have plans and there is a Peloton page where you can ask questions.
comrade static, I lost 65 pounds last year due to diet change, spinning, running and weight training. AMA.
Wife was just on the bike and we had the power flicker during a rainstorm. Turns out when that happens you lose all of the data from that ride. When it came back on, her output and mileage was at 0. Thank God that wasn’t me.
