Will be spending next week in a cabin by Kernville just outside of Seqouia National Forest. Anyone been and have some must do activities in the area, specific trails to hike, etc.?
As someone that's only lived here for about 7 months and been spending a lot of time exploring the various neighborhoods to figure where we want to live next, Los Feliz is pretty good. Good restaurants and shops, close to Silver Lake and Echo Park. It's just making that transition from hipster, up-coming to booshie. If you want a youngish crowd that has good bars and resturants, not clubs but also still has a little edge and not stroller city, look at Highland Park. The way that people described Los Feliz and Silver Lake to us is kind of outdated and actually closer to how Highland Park is now Check out places close to York and Figueroa.
Los Feliz is good but pretty expensive now. I've mentioned this before, but people seem to think there's still some sort of discount in living in Silver Lake / Echo Park / Los Feliz area, but those areas are just as expensive as WeHo now. Highland Park and Eagle Rock are good neighborhoods if you still want to find something cheap that isn't up by Pasadena. There's another area just east of downtown - want to say Lincoln Heights - that's up and coming too.
It’s supposed to be 105 today in the LBC and I don’t have AC 107 in Vernon for work. At least I have AC.
545am run will be 81 tomorrow. Only time I can feasibly go Sucks living elsewhere with humidity and shit but I’ll still complain
This is exactly why I got my Peloton. Unless I wake up early or go late I won’t be able to workout. I can’t imagine being in the valley during the summer.
Nope. Set my alarm for 445 and saw that it was 91 degrees. No chance I would trail run through that. I’ll go tomorrow for 5 mi before the gym.
Need more specifics. Where are you flying into, where are you staying, how long, where do you want to go?
Honestly LA is so big that it would be helpful to know where or at least the area you are staying. There will probably be sporting events going on during the time you are here. If you are anywhere near me I will buy you a beer, just don’t tell Tobias lol
No it's much bigger than too big. Do you want to go to the beach? Do you want to go to Beverly Hills? Do you want to go to Disneyland? Do you have a hotel booked?
I’d say no on disneyland. Beach maybe to walk around and sight see. Beverly Hills sounds cool what can I do there
Walk around and see rich people IRL who act like Daniel Ocean does on the internet. How long are you going to be in LA?
Yeah so I'd do Hollywood on Saturday I guess. Friday would be dependent on where you're staying, as getting around LA can take 2 hours depending on where you're going. Sunday I would do Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach since they're near LAX.
Stay in Manhattan Beach or Santa Monica imo. You’ve got beach stuff to do and then can figure it out. Santa Monica is closer to DTLA or Hollywood if that’s what you want to do. Hollywood sucks imo fwiw.
If devine stays in Santa Monica he can do the beach stuff and go to breweries/bars in Santa Monica Culver City and maybe Inglewood on one day. Check out Hollywood and downtown LA and do the breweries in Downtown/echo park /frog town the next. I hate Hollywood but it’s a “cool” tourist thing to do.
devine strikes me a sufficiently WV hipster to stay in Venice imo. Though at this point I just want a gather round my bar thread live from Nickerson Gardens Friday night.
