I’m really starting to realize that if I really truly enjoy a game the twitch community is gonna fuck me in the ass over it. Destiny and Fortnite being my primary examples. Twitch and this phenomenon of Video Game celebrities can suck my incredibly average Irish cock
I think it was mostly because they were so under powered. After a few more weeks of powerful gear drops it shouldn't be that bad I don't think.
I’m sure being being underpowered would help survivability, but it seemed to be the mechanics that were frustrating most teams. I watched Datto’s team for a couple of hours and they were wiping to the final boss mechanics more than they were to dying. They spent AT LEAST 12 hours on the boss fight alone and were able to 2 phase him (whenever they got that far). Two phasing a Destiny raid boss usually seems like the standard of being full powered, so they weren’t too underleveled to do damage. The final boss requires almost constant communication and execution, which I doubt many teams will be able or willing to do. Which is fine for ultra-hardcore players, but will really frustrate casuals and even most daily players that don’t have a set fireteam. And you can forget about LFGing for this raid lol
That definitely concerns me as the guys I raid with aren't the best at mechanics. But we've been able to beat every raid before on heroic so should eventually be able to get it. Might just be a bit more frustrating.
On the bright side, there will probably be plenty of guides and walkthroughs by the time most people get serious about beating it. It does look pretty fun, tbh.
Datto already has a few video on it. I haven't watched yet as I like to at least try for myself before watching a guide. Shoot me an invite if you are on PS4. You are welcome to play with my group. We've already got a few Bammers so another one couldn't hurt too much. My GT is aussiebrew33 ButchCassidy used to play with us before going back to Xbox.
The most entertaining time spent raiding ever is what. Plus I'm probably just a little better than I was the last time any of us did a raid together.
Me telling Karl Hungus his parents had passed away to get away from having to continue being his parents
How stupid Jax Teller is in general. Him not being able to differentiate between lehmanspeed and myself
Sounds like me with Vex Mythocast. I didn't get until Age of Triumph when they brought it back. And I ran VoG a lot.
i have the pc version, played a few days when it came out, but haven't been back cuz of spider-man. gotta beat that first.
I already said that you are a beautiful idiot, Dabut, you can’t have your cake and eat it too. If you need somewhere to go during a hurricane, my apartment is always open!
dont see any way i'll be raid ready any time soon. may come back to the PS4 side since it's free now. (minus all the DLC)
depends on how far into the raid you want to go. The final stuff is at 580. I went in as 548 and was the highest in my group (2 others were mid 30's, rest were high 20's), we eventually killed the first boss and called it after that. I was fine as far as damage to me and damage I dealt at that level, others did ok but died a bit more and obviously our overall DPS was lower. I'd say anything 525+ is viable in that first encounter for killing adds and your knight, maybe even 520+, but without some higher level people in the group the boss DPS will take too long. No idea on the second yet. Once more people are 540+ the first boss will actually be easy to 1 or 2 phase. Not sure on the rest of the raid, but I'm not anticipating finishing it for a while. Maybe finish one more encounter each week as everyone's level increases. And I'm actually good with that. There's a ton to do in the game right now. The raid seems really cool but really hard and will take a while before most will be able to clear it, so we do all this other stuff in the meantime. Shortens the inevitable content drought before December's new stuff. also, PC4lyfe.
I'm like 541 right now and I'm the highest if my group. I'm hoping with another week of powerful drops I'll be up around 550 or so and ready to at least tackle the early part of the raid.
I'm gonna have to hit you up next time I'm on. Sucks though that I cant complete the claim bounties and get any of those rewards
This new way Sony downloads updates and then takes an hour to "copy" is going to make me switch platforms.
Funny thing about Datto’s team completion was that they finished 2 minutes after the 24 hour release, so they didn’t get the emblem that Bungie offered for teams that completed it within 24 hours. Only 2 teams did. I can’t imagine what it would feel like to spend 24 hours on a raid only to come up 2 minutes short. I’m surprised Datto didn’t off himself on stream, which it seriously sounded like he was close. Mental health is a serious thing and those that need help should definitely seek it, btw.
This is still one of the greatest video game accomplishments I’ve ever been a part of. Even thinking about it today amazes me how we were able to do it. I wish someone somewhere had that recorded.
Vault of glass was just so much fun. The night we did the drinking game to it was a blast. I'd be up for that again for sure.
I remember the first inside VoG part against the templar where you had to drink anytime someone died after you. Someone died right off the bat (I actually dont think it was me the first time). I saw either Boyd Crowder or You 's character just stand there and kind of calmly turn side to side like they were thinking. And then just calmly walk off the side of the cliff. Then we all realized what they were doing and it became a race to jump off the edge and make the first person to die drink more.
I really liked the Age of Triumph version of VoG and really all the raids but VoG specifically. The challenge where you had to not let the Templar teleport was great. I was our teams relic holder and that shit was tough.
that was prior to any update really too right? like we weren't super overpowered i thought? i know it was said in here but who did that again? I know me and you... get them dank ass nugs
Me and my raid team beat VoG within 24 hrs. Up there with a week one Titan Extreme kill on ff14 as far as VG accomplishments are concerned. 4 of the guys from my raid team made another team and competed for world first in every raid since VoG. Always day one clears, always within an hr or two of worlds first
Pretty sure it was you who died first and then i jumped off. Even if you werent first i was definitely second.
It was us, Ogre, Rust and Black Nole. My trophy collection tells me it was 6/18/2015, so that would have been in between House of Wolves and The Taken King. So we probably were overpowered. But who cares? We still had to fall down the cavern after Templar, get past the Gorgons and then do the jumping puzzle. All without anyone dying. And we were doing it all with 5, so in my mind that mitigates being overpowered.
