I've seen it at a few but it's more rare. If you come across any of the variants buy as much as you can
I’ve given it a couple hours and the bayas de la casa is one of my favorite beers of the night. Well done VTA (confused the two in my first post)
I need some help. My girlfriend got a job a local brewery (1-2 shifts per week) for some extra cash. She is really getting a kick out of learning about beer and whatnot. For Christmas she is asking about "beer classes" but there doesn't seem to be anything like that in our area (Birmingham, AL) other than little 30 minute brewery tours. There is no interest in home brew, just more learning how to taste and characteristics of different beers. Has anyone done a cool class at a brewery in the southeast? Are there some cool books you know of I could get her?
What is frustrating is that I don't even get free beer! They have good food and I get half off of that which is nice.
I'm sure they exist but I don't think you need classes to pretend you can get hints of pencil shavings in your beer.
There’s an online cicerone exam and study material at https://www.cicerone.org/products/b...MIho2GoPPb3gIVI__jBx0CpwcIEAAYASAAEgIoe_D_BwE Not sure how into it she wants to get there’s a few levels to it but it’s like being a sommelier for beer
http://www.thebeerscholar.com/ This plus a handful of books were my primary study sources when taking the certified exam. The beer server level in the cicerone program is a joke, the real test was fun though.
I had a small pour at the restaurant. It was good but way too much going on at the same time. Mostly cinnamon
Also I had Holy Mountain’s Turkish Coffee Midnight Still on tap at Novare Res this week Fucking incredible
Corky Bucek what recommendations do you have for downtown LA breweries? Is Imperial Western any good? Food menu looks worth a visit.
Never been. Mikkeller and Modern Times have DTLA locations. I’ve only been to Mikkeller and it’s really solid. Can’t go wrong with any MT locations. Arts District Brewing can be fun, they have a bunch of games and decent beers. Mumford makes good stuff, but haven’t been to the brewery. Have heard it’s in a rough part slightly past DTLA.
I’ve been to the SF one a few times. Appears the LA one is right near the hotel so no reason not to. Thanks, guys.
I was in Portland this where and was elated to find that on draft. The non adjunct might be one of the best stouts I've ever had

Got a friend braving this weather to go to HF on Friday Going to drown myself in Mary and Twilight of the Idols
Some former employee posted in a beer advocate thread about them cutting employee wages for retail and packaging staff sometimes down to $5 an hour. Also that their tequila sunrise slushy was not a tequila barrel aged wild it was a shit batch of a beer that had tequila directly poured into it. Who knows if it’s true but it’s enough that JC has posted on Facebook that he needs time to think before he officially responds
I knew they were greedy wanks (for someone clearing 7 figure profits) but the wage related shit is fucking insane..
