Anybody shot the new Mathews bows? This year is my first to not take any game with the NoCam (not the bows fault). These new models have piqued my interest
Shot the Vertix , and I will find a Traverse to shoot. Dayum that thing is nice. Kids may not get Christmas. Daddy wants a new bow
Was out doing a service call on the lodge pool at a managed hunting and fishing ranch in East Texas today. Pic quality is poor because of rain and distance but saw the 5 of the most ridic bucks I have seen irl within a 1 hour span. Could not snap a pic of the 5th quick enough.
I'm turrble at scoring deer, and cant get a good idea of the mass, but that appears to be about $40,000 worth of antler in those pics. Nice
I have the gate code and address. You should be able to handle the night-vision optics and the moonshine and baby we got a stew going!
I have never done it. To be fair, this place is about 10 square miles so fencing just covers the deers range.
It basically keeps your guaranteed herd in without outside influence. Really important if you are breeding with a brought in buck. But I agree, its cheating
Oh I know, that is why it is managed. Although they do not do this for profit, it is only family and friends that hunt this place. Even got to see a doe that was brought in the day before pop its front leg out of the shoulder socket and hear the ranch manager scorch the earth with obscenities while it happened. He could only hope it corrected itself so the money would not be lost. He only gets to cull 1 or 2 shit deer a year their. My chances of hunting there ever are as good as yours.
That's just not a factual hunt though. You see so and so kill a 160" state record, the first question shouldn't be high fence or not.
Just a strong right. He his missing his g1 on his right side, old boy has been doing some fighting. I’m going to ask the taxidermist to leave him like that, I think it’s pretty cool.
Gonna try to get out with the bow again this weekend and see what I can do. There are some monsters back there that I don't know anything about.
Sometimes files are too large or you get pics like mine on the last page where it looks normal on mobile but on a computer it looks gigantic.
Testing I thought you had to upload it and then copy the url and then paste it in the message Edit: yeah, teg’s way is easy too
This past weekend was very productive on the farm. Bagged some limits of mallards and a 6.5 148 10 pt.
Shot this one this past weekend. A good deer for our area, I probably should've let him walk through. A young deer. I'm taking fellow TMB'er Sean Connery hunting this weekend - hoping to put him on his first deer, and it's just in time for our pre-rut to start heating up. They're starting to lay scrapes down and just walk around looking, I typically have more luck pre-rut than in the actual rut around our area.
Going on my first duck hunt next weekend. Any advice? Planning to put an improved choke on my shotgun and hit the olympic skeet facility this week at lunch. Picked this up last year: https://www.stoegerindustries.com/m3500-shotgun This hunt will be at the Oconee WMA with some guys from the Atlanta Fly Fishing Club and also have one set up on Lake Seminole WMA January 5th. Really enjoy skeet shooting since I'm blind in my left eye and it's really satisfying to be able to dial in and consistently knock them down. Really like my stoeger so much I've thought about getting a 20 over/under.
I’m not a big time duck hunter but ive done it my whole life. Usually once or twice a year. I never lead enough at first
I haven’t hunted a buck for myself in 8 years, have just enjoyed taking my sons and guests. My dad saw a 160+ eleven point last Sunday afternoon. My oldest son chose his gf over trying to get him (pussy stays undefeated) so I said fuck I’m going by myself. Passed on a nice 8 Saturday morning. After hunt went to our little cook shack and his picture was on the wall, someone killed him during week. My friend tried to text me pic but it didn’t go through. About to drive home to a likely irritated wife bc she needed my help this weekend. Beautiful weather and saw lots of animals, no regrets
Doug and I spent all weekend hunting, he and his buddy were in box stands with rifles, I was in a tree stand with my bow. They saw a few does and yearlings, but were only looking for bucks. This was my first hunting trip, so I was planning on taking anything within range, except I didn’t see a damn thing. Tracks all around the food plots, but they appeared to have gone nocturnal just before our trip. I will say that in spite of the poor luck, I loved the experience as a whole. Being out and watching the sun come up when it’s nothing but you and the animals in their home turf with no people around was pretty amazing. Definitely won’t be my last hunting trip and I’m looking forward to the next. Plus all of the Cajun food
damnit y'all got some fine dna in your areas. Our area sucks ass for big deer so pretty much every 2-3 year old 6 point gets got. pisses me off but too many other hunters to convince
A good buddy sent me Steve Rinella's wild game cookbook. This thing is so badass. Looks like a coffee table book.
