Hello beautiful. https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/1966-ROLEX-Date-Just-Automatic-Wristwatch_8894E218EC/ I don’t love two tone, but that’s really sharp on a nice leather strap.
auctionzip.com Just type in your zip code and miles away you want to search and it pulls up all the auctions in your area. You can type in the "keywords" box, what exactly you are looking for to see if any are selling around you.
Need an Omega Authorized dealer, not in Florida or Georgia, for an upcoming purchase Who has a contact?
Omega retail store won’t budge on price, but authorized dealers will. I have someone in Georgia willing to give 10% off, but State law passed in January & now I’d have to pay state sales tax, despite being in Florida. I can just call around the country, but prefer to reach out to someone that one of you knows or has dealt with.
What do people think about two-tone? I am hesitant to get a basic Submariner because I feel like everyone has one.
I'm not really a fan of the two-tone sub, but the timing on that question is a bit wrong, because I'm still poisoned by the awful 126603 two-tone Sea Dweller that was introduced at Basel. The two-tone white face Daytona 16523 is up there with my favorites, but obviously is a little pricier.
I like some applications of two-tone, especially with a white face. This is not one of them, though. Also, I don’t even own a gold wedding ring, let alone gold belt buckles, tie bars, etc. silver errything.
I'm so indecisive. I've narrowed it down to two. Going to order something tomorrow. Yacht Master is from 12/16 with papers - $10,500. Deep Sea is from some time this decade, no papers, $8,800
I have the Deep Sea and I love it. They have one with a blueish face but I couldn’t find one to see it in person.
Yeah, it’s awesome but way out of my price range. What does everyone think between the Deepsea and Yacht-Master? Kind of leaning towards the Deepsea because it’s significantly below retail at $8,800. I think you can buy this Yacht Master new for like $12k.
Deepsea. I don't like the bezel on that YM at all. The pricepoint also seems to be greater value for the Deepsea as well.
I’ve purchased my last “cheap” watches for the foreseeable future, nothing else before my datejust purchase in 2020. Grabbed this for my daily beater watch (I’ve mentioned in the purchase thread that it’s important that I not wear anything flashy or even remotely reflective of wealth): Then grabbed a $44 Casio Duro bundle from eBay for an upcoming trip overseas. (Don’t care to travel with anything expensive.) No more cheap watches though, I’m done.
Deepsea purchased. Will post on my wrist in the next few days. Thanks for the input guise. I'm very happy with the purchase. It's in excellent shape and I feel like it is way more uncommon than a Sub or Datejust and more unique.
Would I like the disposable income that justified buying this watch? Yes Would I use said funds to purchase this watch? Absolutely the fuck not. I think it's atrocious
The Calatrava? That's a great watch, but the price is the only comparison with the YM2. If you're going solely on price point, I'd agree that it's probably a better value because of versatility. I still like the YM2 as a good change of pace watch because it's pretty unique.
I don't know why there appears to be a scratch on the bezel at the 1 hour mark in the above picture. I snapped that really quickly on the subway. Here's a shot in better lighting.
Yeah, I expected to get the sapphire sandwich, but couldn’t get past the milky ring. When with the OG
Posted this watch before, but looks like this auction company is selling another one. Would this be worth trying to get and cleaning it up? Could this be brought back to life? Would get a different band to put on it, but can the bezel be cleaned and resurrected? Upside down.... Spoiler: Omega Constellation
Really like the look of this watch, and the fact that it’s a WW2 piece. Also I’ve never had a hand winding watch. https://omegaforums.net/threads/ome...ed-sweep-second-wrist-watch-circa-1944.94225/ Anyone know if this is a reasonable price?
Cool watch, cool story & seems to be immaculate kept... Price seems reasonable. I prefer manual wind watches. The daily winding of my Speedy, or Hamilton, is one of my favorite parts of the day.
I'd say it's reasonable. Most vintage Omegas in good shape go in the $300-$600 range, unless you're the Omega Enthusiast and can somehow get people to pay $1500 for them - but his watches are beautiful.
Thoughts on switching out an original bracelet for a nylon, two toned band? I know this is sacrilegious to hardcore loyalists. Spoiler
