thanks for the info I'm in broward and they've been telling me it'll be 79.95 for blast since I can't get promo because I'll be downgrading my service from quad to just internet. I just know I'm going to end up having to pay these bitches extra for the unlimited data because my older sons are on xbox live like 12 hrs a day so they eat up a shit ton of data each month and we aren't even streaming much yet.
I don't like how I'm being forced to pay $50/month on YoutubeTV now to get more channels I was perfectly fine not getting.
How would you like paying more than $50/month for a different service and not get all the channels you want?
I should be able to refuse the price hike and new channels. These cable streaming services are starting to evolve into cable companies which they were suppose to be the alternative for. The real revolution is a la carte cable/streaming.
LOL, this is true. This is why the Time Warner/ATT acquisition is bad and what I referenced a few pages ago. Look what discovery and their little bandit of like 15 niche channels can do. I think the big players are going to be ruthless with the carriers. You ala carte with them or you pay through the nose to have content with any carrier.
https://www.swooptv.com Anyone ever heard of or used this? No DVR is balls, but if it has all the sports channels than I really don't give a fuck at $20 a month during football season.
Interesting but something's off about it. On its page it mentions both 504 channels and 600+ channels. Unless I missed it, it also doesn't have a list of all the channels available. And, a deal breaker for me is that its not available via Roku. Just seems a bit sketchy and too good to be true. $20/month for that amount of channels including HBO??
After looking more post being tired, yeah seems sketchy as hell. If it has all the sports networks though, fuck it they will get my 20 bucks.
I would cancel through the Apple Subscriptions. Go to Settings on the device than to your account and then choose your Apple ID and click subscriptions. Cancel there and then go resign up on YouTube Tv through the web.
I did a chat with YTTV support the other day. This is what you'll have to do but wait until May so that you don't get charged the new price a month early.
Been wanting YTTV but you are an Amazon Fire user? Soon, you'll be able to subscribe. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech...utube-fire-tv-owners-no-echo-deal/3499157002/
As an existing Verizon and YTTV customer, I'm interested to know what this could offer me beyond what I already get.
I've heard CBS is looking to buy back Viacom and that AT&T is looking to lauch one with their content they got from Time Warner
Maybe I was unlucky, but I watched an episode of Letterkenny and got at least 3 90 second commercial breaks for a 30 minute episode.
It might get annoying that there are so many so none really have everything you want, but at least it will mean they all have to be cheap to compete with so many other services. I still think that for the non-live TV streaming services, Netflix will remain king since they have such a huge head start on everyone. With that being said, only companies with enormous revenue are entering this space so it will be interesting for sure.
Even if it gets to the point where you have 3-4 streaming services like YTTV, Netflix, Disney + and you get back to where you are spending the 150 you were already spending.... look how much more content you are receiving now than 4-5-10 years ago? Disney making all of this new live action star wars TV shows/movies, Marvel making new TV shows, Netflix making movies etc. At least your money is going toward content instead of Comcast.
Welp guess I won't be joining the cord cutters. called those fuckers at Comcast today to downgrade to internet only and they claimed since I'm a loyalty customer they're going to extend my bundle promo price for another two years. With the new YTTV price and the unlimited data cap fee I would have had to pay would have come to same price I already have I'm going to just stay status quo so I can keep NFLN and Nickelodeon for the kiddies.
So, YTTV, does it offer a bunch of sports channels? I liked that I could view nearly every soccer match with an IPTV.. but they all keep getting busted.
If you Google it, you can usually punch in your zip and it'll tell you the channels but I cant figure it out from my current state. I was happy as a sports fan when I originally looked though. YouTube TV is legit. Just miss out on the NFL network.
You can just check their site for a full listing but in general, yes, it has a ton of sports channels. Just no NFL Network, yet.
Does YTTV provide actual numbers for the channels? One thing I hate about these services is that you have to open the guide and scroll to the channel you want. Far, far easier just to punch a number into the remote.
