So allegedly Ajax and Barca have agreed to a €70mil fee for de Ligt. The deal is getting held up because Raiola wants a 20% commission () and Ajax refuses to pay that.
I will never understand why agents possess so much power in the sport. The fact they can sway a transfer is absurd
How does that work? Raiola is suspended for the summer. He can’t take a commission or he involved in any transfer. Will be very interesting to see if his clients fire him, wait on transfers or fifa back down on his suspension. Fifa need to put limits on agents though. They should be capped at a certain % of a players earnings and not be able to earn any money from clubs to help facilitate a transfer.
Rumors of Hazard to Real Madrid for $113 million is done and will be announced after Europa finals. NBC Sports and CBS reporting it, sounds like rumor starts from L'Equipe in France. Further speculation added that Pulisic gave a quote about being excited to go to Chelsea and nam dropped a lot of current players but left off Hazard
Real big secret that Hazard is gone. Imagine it will be around 100 million pounds, should be 200+ but he has 1 year left on his deal. Top 5 player in the world.
I’d sit tight if I were Real. No need to pay €100mil right now. He wants to go there, clearly. Chelsea has zero leverage.
Also, am I crazy or can Chelsea not sign anyone for the next two windows? Are they going to sue to delay it or is there an update I haven’t seen? Edit: I guess I’ve always missed that is u-18 players only.
The player doesn’t want to go out kicking and screaming like courtois did. That’s the only reason the fee will be decent.
They’ve already appealed to the CAS. CAS can (and presumably will) stay the ban while it’s considering Chelsea’s appeal. That would mean this summer will be business as usual with a two window ban for winter and next summer. It could also conceivably be reduced to one window though that seems less and less likely. If CAS doesn’t stay the ban, then no signings until next summer but the loan guys can come back (like Pulisic, Bakayoko, Abraham, etc.) as they’re already registered with Chelsea.
But they don’t want to wait it out. Madrid are a dumpster fire and need some good news and Hazard wants to go this summer. It’ll get done only question is if it’s for 70, 120 or something in between.
My guess on Hazard is that it ends right around 90m. Seems reasonable for all parties. He is probably “worth” more than that, but him wanting to leave brings that number down.
City has given Bayern permission to negotiate with Leroy Sané’s agent in reference to a summer transfer. Reported by Duncan Castles.
Bayern seem to be perplexed that they can’t buy players the same way they do from German teams when they go to England.
This year is different. They’ve already said they’ll spend €300mil to revamp the club. 5 players we know are leaving need to be replaced.
So what is the purpose of this thread? I see it's quite active on the soccer board but I'm truly perplexed. Did Spurs get an invite for this summer's supposed 2019 Transfer Champions Cup competition?
#Fulham sounds like we’re closing in on Sessegnon for ~ 25m, and are his preferred destination. Thoughts on the potential deal, his play this season, and how he’d fit in at Spurs?
He didn't have a great year, but still has tons of potential. Ranieri pretty much dropped him from the squad, which made no sense since we had almost zero offensive creativity which he would have obviously helped. His best position is on the wing, but he's been played some at LB since that was his original position and we had a lack of other options there. I think he's too small to compete there long term but he can definitely grow into a very solid winger with the right coaching and being surrounded by better players at spurs than he has been at Fulham. At 25 mil that would be a great deal since he was being linked with fees much more than that last year. I don't see him making much of an impact right away but could be a factor within a year or two. Would love to still have him at Fulham, but assume he will be gone.
You and me both. The Hernandez and Pavard signings are a good start tho. Hopefully they are injured less than our other French international.
I don’t think we have any intention of playing him at LB should the deal go through. Any ideas what went wrong this year since he was so instrumental in Fulham gaining promotion the year before? I guess everything was a mess this season though.
He played almost every game last year and was playing with a bunch of guys he was comfortable with against competition that is obviously below the premier league. When we scored, Sess was usually part of the lead up if not the scorer. It was beautiful free flowing soccer, and Sess was a lot of the reason. This year, we brought it so many guys that had zero time to gel and didn't fit what we were doing the year before and so the whole team was just kind of a mess with no flow. It also usually pushed Sess to LB early in the season when he did play, so I think his season was just a combination of being around shitty players, out of position and against much better competition while having your confidence destroyed by your manager. Mitro kinda has a similar fall. He's a very good striker when he has some kind of service, but he's not going to beat people 1 on 1. He was on fire last year when he had guys getting him the ball and this year no one could get him the ball even when he was in great position. I think both guys will do very well next year just being on teams that have better players in support.
Rumor that Rodri’s release clause has already been paid. Atletico says it’s one of three teams, Barca, City, Bayern.
Bayern’s sporting director was in Madrid on Saturday for a meeting with a mystery agent. Probably nothing.
