So yeah it’s the old top ten when you play them or where they finish. Penn state wasn’t top 10 during that game
For AP top 10 teams at the end of the season: 2015 - OSU (L) MSU (L) 2016 - PSU (W) UW (W ) FSU (L) OSU (L) 2017 - OSU (L) UW (L) PSU (L) 2018 - ND (L) OSU (L) UF (L) 2-10 record. PSU and OSU (assuming OSU beats UM) are likely top 10 finishers, ND and UW still have a chance as well so you could potentially see that record grow to 2-12 or 2-13 AP final top 10 teams.
Huge mistake on my part, this changes the narrative completely. 100% more wins against AP top 10 than previously thought. Fixed and noted.
They're pretending Harbaugh walked into a Rutgers equivalent. The team he inherited had like 20 some odd NFL draft picks in the 2016/2017 draft
I love how accepting Michigan is of their complete relative mediocrity. They've convinced themselves they will never be better than OSU ever again and that they will never actually matter on the national stage but hey, that's OK!
Just pointing out that this national treasure's father was the Heisman Trophy winner for Michigan's last national title team (1948)
The talent he inherited wasn't Rutgers equivalent, but it's also ridiculous to not give him credit in the equation for the number of players from that group who ended up being drafted. Michigan had 14 players drafted in 16-17. 2 of them went in the first two rounds. Look at that list of names. I don't think a ton of people had Jeremy Clark, DeLano Hill, Jehu Chesson and Ryan Glasgow getting drafted when he got the job. People can dump on Harbaugh for a bunch of things, but he deserves more credit than he got for what he did his first two seasons considering the dumpster fire he took over. Doesn't excuse the fact that the program hasn't grown from that point, though, and at this point that's all that really matters.
michigan has really backed themselves into a corner here. harbaugh was the endgame/culmination of the process. and he stinks. no idea where they go but i am excited to see it. unless they hire larry fedora and then i am super excited to see where it goes
He doesn’t stink, he has um back to basically the carr era minus 1997. The big ten is just a lot better and a lot more difficult to win with the championship game and our rival being at a historic high. Not what we expected, but Um will never fire him. If anything he’ll just get frustrated and go back to the nfl.
when they fire him it's going to make for some great discussions because not beating OSU and winning the conference aside, he's done almost everything else right. the perception of Michigan football is what's going to get Harbaugh fired and it's very rare that such a thing happens.
Prior to the UM game Franklin has won about 71% of his games in his time at Penn State, but he’s gone 1-3 against Harbaugh and 2-9 against top-10 teams. He picked up his first road win against a ranked team last week against Iowa, which improved his record in such games to 1-6.
He had 48 scholarship players when he walked into Penn State. Still qualified for a bowl in his first two seasons and has a B1G championship. Get out of here with that shit
The Alabama thread is currently discussing whether or not Saban is done. Every college football coach sucks apparently.
