DD is The Show’s equivalent to Ultimate team right? If I jumped in now would I be so far behind I’m screwed like in UT?
Yes, and no. DD is much, much more FTP friendly. There are lots of good vs. CPU modes where 1) you wouldn’t be fucked and 2) you could unlock better players pretty quickly. The inning and Mother’s Day conquest maps in particular are a good place to stock up on some good packs. As far as the PVP modes, Ranked season will match you based on record and team strength, and in Battle Royale you draft a new team with each entry (I find this mode impossible because I’m not very good). You would get wrecked in the events mode, probably.
The Team Affinity/Face Of Franchise card comes diamond. So it’s basically a different version. I currently have the 81-82 gold “live series” card, but will unlock the diamond one with the TA exchange. So it’ll be two separate cards in this case. My assumption is he’ll have the same swing/animations just better stats now so I’d hope I can have even more success.
It’s not too late, but it can be a grind. There’s tons of ways to unlock good cards without spending a dime, it just takes time to complete the missions and stuff. But IMO this is about 100x better than another other MUT type mode, because they make cards so obtainable. I haven’t played nearly as much as I’d like, but most of my lineup is now 90+ overall, and outside the occasional mismatch online I can compete in most games. For the most part they match you up with similar teams to start with too, so when you do play online you have a chance. Again there’s times where you get thrown to the wolves but still consistently “fair” imo.
Thanks, I was confusing live series with the FOF player. I was thinking you could upgrade the FOF player somehow. That may have made it even more appealing to get that card.
Just to add, even if you are horrible like most of us it's still fun. You can look like you are playing someone who is nuts but they're just a polished terd. Get a quick run on them and they quit. If I'm outmatched I just put in my worst RP and throw BP until I get mercy ruled. Unless I need K's for a challenge I just get my ABs in and move on.
Yeah, it’s probably not the best FOF card and I’m sure I could unlock/buy a better overall in the market...but for whatever reason I hit with Tatis insanely well, so he’s stuck in my lineup this long as a gold...figure I might as well try his diamond. As I’ve said before, there’s a few guys out there that I am good with despite their rating, also some guys I suck with that are 99 (Henderson).
You can only “prestige” (upgrade) certain diamonds. It’s only through online play though and the stats needed are crazy
I faced FOF Ohtani, could not touch that fucker. Guy ended up with like 25 K's with him. After about the fifth inning I just stopped swinging. I did get one hit in the first inning.
Nothing more frustrating then just being straight up over matched by one of those highly rated pitchers.
beating one of said pitchers, only to have the fucker force quit while your home run is in the air so you don’t get credit for the dinger
Stub sale tomorrow, but then it’s followed by flash sales for packs....so the market could go pretty wild in the next couple of days.
Gonna wait to see what each card does. Probably double the money and I’ll cash out. I’m sitting on like 15-20 duplicate diamonds and 50+ duplicate golds. Golds I always priced almost double the value so pulled them off to see what happens a few days ago. With the all gold events that should help too. Drive up the cost of those low thousand golds.
Makes sense. I just was wondering if I should just place some sell orders on old cards I have that are gold, I won’t be able to check it throughout the day really.
Yeah I don’t have any frame of reference but I don’t think it’ll be that instantaneous. I’d imagine tomorrow night and through the close of the sale it’ll be consistently high. I’m not jumping on anything, just will be happy with a profit.
Just says “up to 30%” off stubs. Then there will also be a flash sale, which I think is for cheaper packs of cards but it goes super fast.
Yeah the shitty thing is when the stub sale happens all the expensive cards you may need more than likely go up. So not sure how much it makes a difference. But I admittedly don’t play the market really
They just put out a new one, I’m assuming for one of the events if you win. Or go 12-0 or whatever. Assuming there’s just one on the market so far and the dude put 1 million lol he doesn’t even look THAT good imo
Man I have 114K stubs now and I was down to buy some bullpen guys but the options suck, unless you just wanna roll with a bunch of closers.
Made it to the final showdown and lost by one run on my first attempt. I like the mode because it’s something new and it’s a rare challenging mode against the CPU, but holy shit it pisses me off sometimes
Yeah I think the chunk of guys I actually use are as well, but need to boost it for sure. Didn’t think I’d have to take the 2015 Royals approach. No wonder CPs are all like 10K, when the best RP is 2K
I have Britton, Nen, and Dibble for the late innings. Hader and Giles are my middle relief. I should probably start just pulling my SP every time during his 2nd AB and going pen after that. They have such shit stamina though that they don't always get back to full stamina after 1 game where the pitch 1 inning. Well they never get to 100%, they all start at like 75%. Dumb.
Yeah the stamina thing is messed up. It seems like that happens in video games a lot, they introduce something that on paper is a cool idea but it just takes a year to get it right. Previously, there was no stamina, but you didn’t have the choice to pick your SP...it was all randomized. I think it would match your 3 vs their 3, or 1v1, etc. It was kind of annoying but at the same time I kind of miss it. The stamina idea is better but I think they need to tweak how it works especially for the pen, and also there needs to be some kind of restriction on just running out SPs.
I used to always just play now using current teams. RP went to 100% stamina. Like their bar was full if they didn't pitch the day before. In DD they can sit for a 3 games and it never fills up.
Yeah I don’t understand it. IMO if it’s a closer they should have enough stamina to be effective for like 6 outs, and then reloads full. If you stretch them longer than that maybe it takes a game to reload. Similar to real life. SPs they should make it so it’s at least 3 games, and if you bring a SP in out of the pen he should be a tad less effective. Almost like how the game changes a fielders rating if they’re in a secondary position.
So theoretically that 1.2m stubs nets you 3 99's. Not really any active players I'd use. Maybe 1-2 SP but thats it. Would I be better off just buying the bosses as they are released?
I would hope so, when the market is normal the most expensive card was Trout at like 250K but all the other expensive ones seemed to be 100-170K
I guess it depends on your goal. Most of these boss cards go down to like 35K or lower after enough people unlock them. What’d you get Hanley for do you remember?
Like I really want Mantle but I think I might be better off just adding the 98 overall bosses for like 50k each and be done. But Mantle....
Was just wondering because he was a boss. I swear I sold that card for like 30K only too. So if the goal is to just load up players and fill actual DD roster needs, you’re probably better off just picking and choosing cards you like. Seems like most cards lose their value pretty fast, except the super rare ones like Trout, or newly released cards. I’m playing showdown right now but give me like 5 minutes I’ll check something out.
If your going for Mantle, you’d buy the stubs now but wait for the market to return to normal. Earlier today Trout was up to 400k+ and a couple others at 200k+
Wtf people are offering 475k for Machado. Why? Like I get it with Trout bc you have to get him to get Mantle. Is Machado part of a collection?
I think that’s just what happens anytime a card is brand new. Supply/demand type situation on a novelty card that maybe hard to unlock. That’s why I was saying if you wait on those boss cards they’ll go from like 100K to 30K after a week
Nah you only need the live series cards, with Trout being the most expensive. For the new 12-0 flawless reward cards like Machado it’s a flex to have in your lineup for the first few so they go for stupid insane amounts. He’ll settle around 200-250k
Supposed to be the easiest one, but still took me 2 tries I couldn’t hit Felix at the end. Load up on right handed killers for the final boss showdown
