The only quibbles I have are that I've been here the whole time the board just moved towards me at some point. Chalk it up to people growing up and becoming more politically engaged, or Trump, etc but I get that frustration from people who want to stick their head in the sand on the board even if I think it's childish. You can do that and we never cross paths but when the blow ups happen from those folks it seems like they can't. iirc the decision to do all that is because it was the same time when neo nazi manifestos were being linked to shootings and getting them in online message boards so the mod team here decided to be proactive about the situation and make sure this place didnt become somewhere stuff like that was posted

here here. I use this place as a way to discuss my thoughts (sports, politics, the rona, etc.) so I don’t annoy family and friends with them. I can’t say I remember who used to be on the board except for a few exceptions (ShitPit, jwpearl). Lyrtch is a know-it-all and can be an asshole. But he brings the receipts when he’s posting, and I respect that. I often agree with him and when I don’t, I’m able to have discussions about it without getting aggrieved. What Jorts and NoleNBlue did last night was disgusting. They can hate Evil Homer all they want but they crossed a line. Zack Zedalis was being strange but he didn’t participate and shouldn’t be lumped with the other two in regards to that. Getting rid of toxic, racist, homophobic, etc. rhetoric is good for this board. No one should want to be associated with that shit. And bringing shit up from a poster’s real life is no bueno. Whammy, you seem like a good guy and I’d probably enjoy grabbing a beer with you, but I would stay away from pining about the experiences of minorities and instead listen more to their perspectives.
