I'd put Crack the Case above it, although very different type of song, but pretty much agree. Feed the Fire is fucking awesome. Very excited for the new album especially with Dave Cobb producing.
Every Friday around 6est on her YouTube channel now I dont know her music well but isbells version of her song was great too
Well shit, Taylor Goldsmith has done it again. I feel like shitty bro country artists have been trying and failing to write this song since Jimmy Buffett released A1A.
20 minute mark FYI. Thanks for sharing. Probably a top 10 all time song for me. And they did it well as expected.
It’s always insane how Isbell has so many fans like this. “Mr Isbell, I was your biggest fan until someone told me Dress Blues has a line that’s anti-war!”
[Patterson retweets Bernie Sanders] “This is so disappointing. I’ve been your biggest fan since Sinkhole but I’m ashamed to learn that you endorse socialism”
We've had a couple people ITT throughout the years throw in the towel on the 'they never used to be political' schtick
You'd have to be willfully ignorant to listen to his music (much less to claim him as your "favorite") and be surprised at his political ideology. It's pretty damn apparent. It's like people telling Tom Morello to stick to music or the morons sitting in front of me who walked out on a Roger Waters concert because he put "Fuck Trump" all over the screens. What the hell do these people expect?
Jerry's album is out today. Truckers were the backing band, and Jason joined to play slide guitar on this track.
Not sure where to put this but digging the new Ray LaMontagne song that was released a few weeks ago.
Isbell and Earle toured together in 2009. Met both of them and watched them play to a crowd of about 30 people in Vail. Sound was so fucked up I thought Isbell was going to beat the shit out of the sound guy.
Don't think they ever made up. Listened to an interview about it the other day after it was mentioned in this thread. Sucks.
Bummer. I really enjoyed his first two or three albums. Harlem River Blues is still a great listen. Need to check out his more recent stuff.
Edit: quoted the wrong person Jte was dating a roadie. They had a nasty breakup and Isbell took her on the road with him. Jte felt betrayed.
I guess I wondered if it had anything to do with Amanda. She’s on the cover of one of JTE’s albums and I don’t even think she played on it.
