A 2019 article in Bleacher Report detailed a number of problems with the culture of the FSU program under Fisher. According to former assistants, the players seemed to lose their drive after the 2013 national championship season. Additionally, Bleacher Report revealed that Florida State had the worst Academic Progress Rate score of any Power Five program, and was actually on the verge of an automatic postseason ban. Reportedly, Fisher had given his assistants a mandate to "keep players eligible" above all else; athletic director Dave Coburn conceded as much. Fisher's successor, Willie Taggart, was stunned at the apparent laissez-faire attitude toward academics when he arrived, and instituted immediate changes. Several former assistants from Fisher's tenure believed the casual attitude toward academics were part of a larger erosion of discipline that gradually led to a sense of entitlement.[9]

this is more of an indictment on Taggart than anyone else.
Jimbo's biggest problem, aside from letting the culture get so bad he made players sign promise notes to try hard, was his post-Jameis qb recruiting JJ Cosentino (frat star who never attempted being a college qb), Sean Maguire (nice kid, tried hard at least), Everett Golson as a GT, Deondre Francois (booted for domestic violence) James Blackman (listed at 6'4 165lbs) and Bailey Hockman (transferred after a year) isn't going to get it done
And DeAndre Johnson who got booted for punching a girl at a bar before his first spring practice ended
Him having to personally see QBs throw before offering is holding us up on offering whoever our 2022 QB is
He's still doing that? If that's the case I assume he's still conducting passing scrimmages in games you should easily win where your rb is feasting so you end up beating Wake Forest 17-10
Ahhh the Jimbo special. Opponent have one of the worst run defenses in the country and you have some combination of Devonta Freeman/Dalvin Cook? Fuck it we're passing it 50 times and going to win by 3.
If jimbo learns to cut deadweight from his staff in a timely fashion, he should have a bunch of success. His endless devotion to trashcan trickett, moreso than any other factor, lead to the implosion of FSU football.
His early hires at FSU were really strong and then he brought in Charles Kelly, Bill Miller, Randy Sanders and Lawing while retaining Trickett/Dawsey despite having the 7th largest assistant pool in the nation. That, as much as anything else, killed his time in Tallahassee.
his staff has been good here so far except for Craig our OL coach was on the fan hot seat for a year or two but the unit has been stellar so far and he hasnt whiffed on too many top targets He just needs to focus on keeping Elko and our younger DL coach Elijah Robinson. The other DL coach is basically the Aggie version of Odell Haggins and his son is a WR here
Yeah, Dalvin's talent is so much more impressive considering what he was able to do running behind the most inept line in college football.
Candi only got $3.5 million and $4,500 a month in child support? Talk about blowing your load early. Should have waited a couple more years
