I don't think I understand the position by some itt. Is it that those fired journalists should go be fire fighters or teachers or something? Can you not care about journalism during a pandemic? Is it a good thing these people lost their jobs? I don't even know what the argument is.
I read an interview today that someone did with Wingo and it basically amounted to he started posturing for a new contract a couple of years before his current one was up, ESPN called his bluff and didnt renew him at all, and now he's mad. He says he was just trying to be "open and honest" with them by going to them before they started contract negotiations and telling them that he might not want to do his current role forever and he was going to start looking to see what others could offer him. Im not sure what he expected.
I love the lack of self awareness from Trey Wingo that he couldn't be replaced in 2 seconds with someone just as competent.
I enjoy the show. He's annoying at times, but the show is good. Sports radio needs more shows like it. Only talking serious sports is so boring.
A lot of the deedle deedle doodle dee deedle doodle music fans will say Trey Anastasio is cool, but you and I both know that music he makes is ear-diarrhea-poison farts.
I’d bet the house he is a cowherd fanboy. If not, he only listens to Bubba Gator Homer on local Gainesville radio.
Seems like he didn't want to be on the morning show anymore (can't blame him), which is a problem because I'm pretty sure the only reason ESPN put him in that spot is because it had nothing else for him to do after it took NFL Live from him.
i feel like le batard might be like jim rome in that it takes awhile to like the show and figure out all of the inside jokes
DEAD at Stan Van Gundy looking like the ringleader of a foreign circus several weeks away from Bankruptcy
The Jim Tomsula ones were some of the funniest things I’ve ever heard when he was the coach of the niners.
Did the same thing as you, but also listened to SVP and Russillo before getting into LeBatard in 2015/2016. Rome and LeBatard’s show take a while to fully grasp but are completely worth it to me. Taking sports less seriously, or with general irreverence like DLB’s show does, has been a welcome change of pace from the dregs of Atlanta radio and other national shows that can’t laugh at themselves.
It's weird because you're right and that's great but also it's alarming that that many people tune into ESPN for SAS.
but sometimes he brings his dad around and he speaks English poorly. get it???!! hahahahahaha. You don’t get it man!!
I like the substantive portions of Le Batard’s show, but for fuck’s sake his production crew needs to bring that shit out of the 90s because it’s impossible to listen to in the podcast era.
