Take a more head on photo, that one may be slightly OC, may be better off selling raw. And newer cards sometimes not worth grading for a 9, about equal price and would lose on a 8
Yea psa 9 last sold $1900. I wouldn't grade it if there was any issues. It was hard to tell from your photo
Looks a little off-center. I would wait until opening daysish to list it if you are going to sell it. May have a better chance of getting it sold at a higher price with excitement for the season.
You googled right. By far the best Yellow Refractor auto you can get in the box. Will probably send out to PSA by the end of the week
Last psa 9 sold a couple hundred less than last raw. Id be sure to give it a good lookover before I just sent it. Back matters too (but not as much). If back looked ok I may send it. Bowman notoriously has some centering issues
Having things slabbed is cool and long term doesn't hurt. Depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to flip for maximum profit now, you could cost yourself a couple hundred dollars paying for grading and having it come back a 9. Grading really only helps newer cards if its a 10
Honestly looks the same as the last BGS 9.5 that sold (https://www.ebay.com/itm/2020-Bowma...-/353342061094?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292) I've never sent anything in for grading, so I honestly wouldn't be able put a grade on it
May be one you want to send to Beckett. Think you have a better shot at a 9.5 with them than a 10 and it would increase value
Yea I may send it in to Beckett. Think 9.5 grade with them is more possible as long as corners look good and back is centered fine. Looks similar to the last psa 9 to me as well. Like I said centering is an issue with Bowman so not shocking it isn't perfect. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2020-BOWMA...-/402582481552?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
If you are going to grade, go Beckett on this one, I think If you sen to PSA it's a 9, if you send to Beckett I'd say it's a possible 9.5-9 at the worst. Congrats dude on a monster hit.
Agreed, and im usually a psa guy over Beckett, just looking at that card i am not sure he is getting a 10 from psa. Think odds of the 9.5 are higher
Psa supposedly measures card sizes now and will send back if not right size. Forgot the set but one set was weirdly cut and it through off their machine and some people got cards sent back for being cut that weren't, just probably miscut by factory
If I pulled a card like that I wouldn't know what to do with it. Hard to not flip immediately and cash in, but if Jasson pans out thats a monster monster card. But if he doesn't it could be worthless. I have a hard enough time selling the bowman autos I've pulled and none have been that type of value on the line. Given the bust percentage on baseball prospects id probably sell that though, may wait until season starts when baseball is hot again
This could start a fun topic. Maybe it’s been brought up before. In the moment what’s the best pull you’ve ever had? Mine was a Big Ben spx rookie jersey auto
Austin Hendrick purple bowman auto is probably my best pull in terms of current value. However relative to box pulled from, I pulled a Bobby Orr auto from a $20 blaster of minor league hockey cards like 10 years ago.
About 15 years ago I was in my LCS and saw this little girl bring in a Michael Jordan jersey auto she got out of a pack at target that wouldn’t have graded higher than a PSA 3 because she didn’t know how to take care of it
I've pulled two 1 of 1 too. Both this year and I dont think either worth a crazy amount. Pulled a 2020 topps Rays team card printing plate and Tsutsugo topps fire superfractor or whatever they call their 1/1
1/1 McGwire Auto card is the best pull we had other autos we’ve pulled Bryce Harper /55 Noah Syndergard /50 Rickey Henderson 150yr Patch Auto /10 Bregman Auto RC
One Christmas when I was like 10 I pulled a charizard and a venusaur from 3 booster packs in my stocking. I was on cloud 9
Sorry if mentioned before but has anyone else got into the NBA Top Shot digital cards? https://www.nbatopshot.com/ Heard about it today on a podcast and the market is crazy.
Right. Thats a huge decision for me. Trying to buy a house and could put it towards a down payment/stuff for the house or hold onto it and hope he is a stud
I think Jasson value is inflated to a point its probably worth selling. What I like doing in deciding is looking at a guy who i think the players max potential is and seeing what similar cards of theirs sell for. Dont see a yellow Acuna auto for sale but Ungraded purple auto (/250) sold for $1700. Green shimmer psa 10 (/99 but again psa 10) sold for $6350. Getting $2k for Jasson now seems great given that market and I dont think you have a psa 10. But completely what you see as right
This is wild to me. I admittedly don't follow the baseball market as much as I do basketball, but in basketball if a Zion base Prizm is $160-180, the PSA 9 goes for $200-225. Very interesting that people aren't paying premiums for 9s in baseball but they're willing to in basketball.
At the time: Andrew Luck 2012 Elite Printing Plate Autograph 1/1. Pulled a Kobe 1/1 from the Mosaic Mamba packs Panini sent out to outstanding Kobe redemption autos last week too. Now: Mike Trout 2009 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autograph (Graded PSA 10). Vintage Stock had a Buy one, get one free sale on all packs of cards. Bought every single Bowman pack they had.
I think the thought is why pay extra for a graded 9 when it's a new set and you can buy ungraded ones that people put straight into top loaders after pulling and will likely get a 9 minimum and have a shot at 10
For example the chrome non auto of Jasson has had 4,213 cards submitted to psa for grading. 2417 came back as a 10 and 1744 as a 9. So why pay a premium for a 9 when you can buy a good looking raw card and have a better than 50/50 shot its a 10. A card like that most people put straight into a toploader.
I'm not disagreeing with you at all. Just interesting that the basketball market is willing to pay a small premium for a 9 while the baseball market isn't. This is exactly what I do. Buy raw, grade, and sell.
Hit a fully stocked target today. Was glorious, and they are one per item but I still have some fun boxes to open when I get home. Topps chrome update, prizm and contenders football, hoops basketball and prizm draft baseball
Also without really trying i think I found when my meijer gets stocked so I've been on a good run lately. My wife and I go grocery shopping on Thursdays and I go after the kid goes to bed and I've found the meijer pretty well stocked at 7 almost every time I go and the time I went earlier it was empty. So I think it gets stocked around 7 every Thursday. Nothing great has been there recently, mostly off brand baseball but hope thats useful info when we get good releases
So me and my daughter have plans to buy baseball and Pokémon packs and boxes all year and open them all on New Years next year. Hopefully we both can hold out lol.
Not a bad set of blasters but no crazy hit. Wife pulled in the pack she opened a gold /50 auto from topps update chrome, but it was Kevin Ginkel. Lux was in there too, but none of other top rookies. Prizm football was a dud, best rookie may have been Swift. Contenders football i had a rookie of year favorite Herbert and a herbert/Jordan love insert. From hoops I had a zion insert. Prizm draft baseball was another not great auto (Trent Palmer).
I also paid $35 to get in a break of soccer cards tonight because I never see them in store. I bought in for Manchester city, it was a champions league chrome box and a champions league sapphire box. I almost paid $28 to buy in for Real Madrid too but decided not to last second. Of course during the break it was the best break I've seen in terms of hits. He pulled a 1/1 superfractor Luka Modric auto. Some guy got that for a $28 buy in. The /50 sold for $99 so can't imagine what that is worth. Someone paid $410 for Barcelona in that same break and they hit gold. In the pull they got Ansu Fati in chrome ($130 card), Fati sapphire (going over $700) and a fati green sapphire /75 (none on ebay but easily over $1k im sure)
$35 for ManC, $28 for RM, and $410 for Barça is kinda mindblowing. I only even discovered that there were soccer cards after looking at the bulk purchasing website. Fati’s such a stud. Hopefully the buyer wasn’t pissed because they didn’t hit some sort of Messi holy grail
Money laundering bullshit is what it is. Can't believe NBA licensed to them or people even getting excited over paying for YouTube clips
Big money pouring in. I agree it’s probably going to collapse at some point, but people are seeing a lot of profits while it grows.
G9tta get in on those drops! Yeah they're hyping this crap up and it'll end badly. I'd bet my pigs collection on it.
I think pack openings in video games and stuff like that is leading to part of the resurgence of basketball card collecting. My nephews watch a guy on YouTube who makes nba 2k21 videos and has millions of subscribers. He recently started making card opening videos too because he said its a lot more fun opening real packs and having physical cards instead of online cards that you don't have and do nothing with. My nephews have also gotten really into card collecting recently and im sure there is a correlation there.
