wish bands in high demand would do like a 3 day presale for fans who have ordered merch, downloads or live streams. Like if you a fan and have purchased them you get first dibs. Then open to public. Something like this
I got lucky on Goose TN, but was clicking like crazy and it sold out immediately. Sure some scalpers got them
Or just play bigger venues. Idk maybe it’s limited seating because we’re still scheduling covid shows. I didn’t look
Happy 27th to Bomb Factory. While known for the tweezer fest, also don’t forget an OUTSTANDING Divided Sky in the first set.
Shout-out to DUCKMOUTH for hooking me up with a ticket Saturday night to the Goose show here. Had a good time jamming with you man. . Hope y'all didn't get washed away too bad last night. Those storms looked rough for a minute on the radar.
Phish summer tour rumor mill is really heating up. Possibly an announcement this week. Consensus seems to be tour will start in Arkansas now: 7/28 Walmart AMP, Rogers, AR 7/30 Oak Mountain Amphitheatre, Birmingham, AL 7/31 Atlanta, GA (some debate over whether these will still be Piedmont or move to Lakewood or Alpharetta) 8/1 Atlanta, GA 8/3 Ascend Amphitheatre, Nashville, TN 8/4 Ascend Amphitheatre, Nashville, TN 8/6 Ruoff Music Center, Noblesville, IN 8/7 Ruoff Music Center, Noblesville, IN 8/8 Ruoff Music Center, Noblesville, IN 8/10 Hersheypark Stadium, Hershey, PA 8/11 Hersheypark Stadium, Hershey, PA 8/13 Pier Beach, Atlantic City, NJ 8/14 Pier Beach, Atlantic City, NJ 8/15 Pier Beach, Atlantic City, NJ 8/27 The Gorge, George, WA 8/28 The Gorge, George, WA 8/29 The Gorge, George, WA 8/31 Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys, Lake Tahoe, NV 9/1 Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys, Lake Tahoe, NV 9/3 Dicks Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, CO 9/4 Dicks Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, CO 9/5 Dicks Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, CO
Yeah was a little wet Sunday and hour delay between sets, but they came back own and killed it. Solid two nights of music and glad you made it in.
So my first two Goose shows in the books. First they jam hard and was a blast. Also some beautiful music and lyrics. Fan base is rabid, but friendly, so made for a good scene. not the best concerts I’ve ever been two, but certainly top notch and highly recommend going to see them if you can. Band has a great energy
Its acting like there are lawn tickets available for Arkansas but I'm getting told there's not when I put in for one. Or two.
My best friend lives in Portland. Going to scratch one off my bucket list and hit up the Gorge. Can’t wait
I did the Gorge in like 2016 or 2017 (can’t remember) and it lived up to my unreasonably high expectations
Planning on Alpharetta both nights, gonna try to hit at least one night in Nashville. Seem to have pretty good luck on Alpharetta shows, all that I've been to have been heaters.
Damn son! After the last three nights of Baker’s Dozen I was feeling pretty content and ok if that was it for me. It was a good stopping point, very emotional and I left it all out on the floor. I was physically and emotionally drained but just really really happy. Definitely felt like the last chapter for me. Then I did the 3 Alpharetta shows in 2018 which is just too easy for me. And my brother and show partner lives there. Just becomes an annual family reunion party. I’m not going to miss anything in Birmingham or Atlanta no matter how old those fuckers are. But that fees like ages ago now. I can’t imagine 2016.
Same. Think my absolute top moment there though was 2016 seeing Umphrey's with part of the string section from NSO playing "Mantis." Right during the big build up out of the jam into the ending section it just started pouring rain. The timing was so surreal I still get chills thinking about it. Was one of those absolute perfect moments of music in my life.
Yeah it seems like ten years ago. Granted, I went to a ton of shows between 2009-2016, but it’s still been far too long. Been lucky enough to see some truly unforgettable moments over the years. Starting at Coventry in 2004. One of the best trips of my life, despite the music
Got pretty ambitious with my summer tour plans, looks like I’ll be doing 17 of the first 21 shows back
Yeah, love how they opened with Travelers night one, then played Elmeg The Wise night 2.. then after Crosseyed and Pianless encore went back into Elmeg to finish the weekend. These songs are part of story 3 song suite. 1 and 2. 3 is unknown at this time, but seekers on the ridge 1 and part 2 tie in to the story as well, but not considered to be part of the suite Goose seems to plan their set list with a purpose. Safe to assume Rick wrote those songs similar to what Trey does with the gamehendge songs. Obvious inspiration for Ricks writing
I just can’t put my favorite guitar player of all time in last place in his own band. If that makes me an asshole, so be it
Page and Mike still got it. They perform at a high level. Fishman is a lot slower now. Not being able to push the pace really drags a lot of songs down. Trey barely even plays lead anymore. Strums a little rhythm guitar, then leans on some effects, maybe some whale call, then into the same deedle deedle ending solo in every song. He went from the guy that “plays too many notes” to barely playing at all. Yes, I still pay a lot of money to go see this band
My issue with Phish isn’t a bad thing, but anytime I try to listen to newer shows... I find myself 10 minutes in going back to the 90s. Probably missing out on some stuff, but I can’t help myself just going back to that time
In recent shows you can put together a playlist of bangers from a tour, but it is tougher to find whole shows to plow through and keep interested. Fall 2018 is probably the place to be if looking for the latter.
They're just old men. It happens. There is still magic though. Nobody controls a room like Phish. And despite Trey's deteriorated playing, nobody can push air like him. He can still make you physically feel it. It's the happiest place on earth.
