Great thread, I'm going to take a few minutes right now to dig up my favorite Dead recordings. On the off chance anyone in this thread isn't already familiar with these sites, archive.org and nugs.net have some excellent stuff. http://stash.nugs.net/stash.asp http://www.archive.org/
nugs.net gets about $40.00 a pay check every other week. So many good live shows. Go download Steve Kimock Crazy Engine 2 New Orleans show from may and april 2009. I was there and shows where phenomal.
Here is my favorite Dead live recording. It is so clean and crisp. For you dead heads if this one is not in your collection it should be. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick's_Picks_Volume_29
Absolutley, I used to hang out with some hippies that where all into underground rap. They had lots of good shit always playing at their house.
A jambander or underground rapper I am not, but a hippie I've been called more than once. Carry on fellas.

Here are some of my favorite Grateful Dead recordings. I'll post more tomorrow to keep this thread going. This Jack Straw from U. of Oregon is my all-time no. 1. Funny story about why it's so much longer than most versions...Bob Weir's guitar got fucked up leading into the jam before the last verse so he had to leave the stage for a few minutes and Jerry didn't know what to do so he just improvised in a way he never really had with the song. The jam in this version is a full 4 minutes as opposed to the usual 1 or 2. http://www.archive.org/details/gd1993-08-22.akgC61.fink.litzenberger.97076.flac16 Grateful Dead - Peggy O - 6-26-94 Grateful Dead-Desolation Row (3-24-90) Grateful Dead-So Many Roads
Trve Japanese Hippie-type waiz; Psycho Buddha [p.1] - Acid Mothers Temple Tha Taj-Mahal Travelers Between7:03?7:15PM?(??????????) Les Rallizes Denudes - Fallin' Love With
Trappist, I am not really feeling that stuff, but its from Japan and they are pretty weird over there. All is welcome in this thread and please feel free to continue to share. Here is my Jap Jam Band addition. Meltone Live
Archive.org was the bomb when they still had Grateful Dead sbds for download. You can only stream them now, but there are plenty of HQ auds still there if you look hard enough. I get most of my shows off of sendspace now.
There are so many good GD/JGB vids on youtube. You can piece together entire concerts as well - I highly suggest y'all favorite the entire 3.28.81 concert. 81 might be my favorite year...Brent fucking rocks. Here's my favorite tune. Grateful Dead - Althea 03-28-81

Its been a couple of years, but everytime I have seen them it was great. Those fuckers can pick. Some good Hippy Grass. Let us know how it goes.
Duckmouth... Head is a From Good Homes song, right? I've been hearing it on jam on lately and its been stuck in my head recently "Scratch and Sniff" by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones Most funky flecktones song
You got it, I am actualy listening to their version of it right now. Railroad Earth has a couple members in it that were from From Good Homes. Railroad Earth is a little more bluegrass. Nice addition too.
