I'm pretty sure Ranked stats are just from Ranked games and that's what shows up on the "diamond dynasty" tab on the player card CPU games within DD all accumulate their own stats and only show up in game modes like conquest, etc. Both count towards parallels but game modes + events/BR.
Trout must have heard me chirping, just went perfect contact for a bomb off Mo (I assume the non 99 version)
Woo boy almost lost a controller just now. Had a guy thrown out at plate in b10. Had a guy thrown out at plate in b11. 2 outs top 12, lazy ground ball to 1b, hits the bag, goes through Oritz's legs. Run scores. Perfect perfect line out for Trout to start b12. Winter PH bomb to win it. I've now had 2 ab's with Winker, both ph bombs.
Anyone know how warming up pitchers affects them? Like does letting them warm up for 3 innings affects their stamina? Does ready and waiting?
I don’t know, I turned off warm up in the settings but I’d imagine that’s for offline play only. Always wondered if it mattered because I see all the content people always warming guys up.
Yes, if they warm up for more than about the other team’s half inning, they’ll burn through stamina faster (same as if they didn’t warm up). Not sure about ready and waiting.
For some reason I think I remember a couple years ago my guys would have lower energy if I warmed them up too long so since then I’ll try to remember to switch to ready and waiting. Seems like this year (or at least I noticed) that you have to select ready and waiting every inning.
About to debut AJ Burnett along with some new uniforms for my squad. This guy picks Shibe Park as his home field. Don’t think I’ve ever played here.
This jabroni quit down 1-0 in the 4th inning. I had one hit and it was a lead off bomb by Bux. He had no hits and couldn’t touch Burnett, he swung at everything I swear I was at 22 pitches through 4IP lol Whatever I’ll take another W I guess.
Just had a complete game one hitter with Cliff Lee, only hit was an infield single that my 2B fielded deep behind the bag and couldn’t get the throw in time. 17 Ks. Watching the guy’s PCI he was guessing wrong all day, got to the point where I was almost trying to predict what he was predicting lol then mid-game I started picking him up and hit a few bombs. Won 9-0, props to the dude not quitting though.
In my defense I rolled over and it was a slow ground ball that took the SS a while to come in to field and Trout barely beat it out
Haha wasn't anything personal. I get them too, just hate the game rewards it so often. That's all. Every game would be 1-0 without it though so I get it. I'd rather them slow down pitch speeds and reward good contact instead of just adding a bunch of fluke stuff.
Based on what you are saying about Semien, I'm once again stuck between "collecting" 15 88s/89s/90s to get him for free and therefore losing the ability to sell those for 100,000+ stubs
Yeah I mean I wouldn’t worry about getting him, there are 3-4 better cards in there. Main thing is having him available to be collected later.
Wow glad you pointed this out. I'm at 37 wins and didn't realize it resets tomorrow. Was wasting time on getting Marichal. That can wait.
Even though I have a bunch of SPs better, I'm keeping Rodon at #5 because his delivery is so quick and I don't have patience He starts like 80% of my games
Oh yeah I know. It was dumb for sure. But slowing down pitch speeds would just make me even more out in front of the slider which I can't afford lol
Glasnow is a diamond now, he’s pretty damn quick, I think he is the quickest. Lee smith in the pen as well. My favorite pen arms are guys where you don’t even aim the stick. Their shit just moved to the corners.
There are tons of posts like this for more ideas. But yeah we are the same. Tons of times when I’m doing TA or need innings I’ll IBB a guy just to throw from the stretch. Might not save a ton of time in the grand scheme of things but it saves me patience that I don’t have much of.
It would be an adjustment buy if fastballs were a tick slower we'd all adjust to having more time. I think the early stuff is more a product of gearing up for the fastball bc the upper 90s just have very little reaction time.
I started using your ibb idea on moments and it's definitely faster. Would be even better if the coach didn't take 10 seconds to put up 4 fingers.
Started playing DD ranked season games over the weekend and had just started using pinpoint pitching like a day prior. First game, guy quit when I went up 7-0 in the first, made the next two quit no later than halfway through the 2nd Late to the pinpoint pitching party, but it is absolutely gamechanging when you can paint the corners or sit people down with the slider away from the plate
Debuted Edward for my team. Was beating a dude 1-0 in the 7th against Crochet I had 7 hits to his one. At 841 now, games are not fun at all at this level. Hoping I get lucky and sneak into the WS. I just want that GOAT icon because I like it. Otherwise it's pretty meaningless while some young punks kick my teeth in.
Give it a few games before you get truly frustrated. It will make you a much much better pitcher. Only pitch I can’t get down that I’ve come across is the splitter. Also, I have to remind myself that the timing is significantly faster when you have runners on base.
My plan was nations conquest map. Still have a few more that I need to complete so those will all be on rookie.
Yep, I’m glad I stuck with it this whole time because it’s what’s kept me in the games so far. I’m not the best hitter, and I’ve always had to grind games out but this year I feel like I’ve actually been able to win with pitching and just hope for the best when my opponent hangs a pitch or leaves a guy in too long. Love when I’ve been able to have a perfect release and I just catch the top corner of the zone for a backwards K. Im sure this post will jinx it and I’ll go from like 9-1 to 9-18 online.
Also remembering that the final move to the 6 is timed with the pitch release. Helps when you have guys with a slow windup because that can throw off the rhythm a bit. I've found watching the pitcher in my periphery while focusing on the circle helps a bit.
Ive noticed that when I’m patient, I’m going to do damage at the plate because most people will just throw junk and get you to make their life easier. Only true issue I’ve had hitting is when some asshole brings guys like Crochet and Chapman and make me flail at 102 MPH fastballs
Yeah I get so fucked up with timing. Just finished up events this morning, needed like 20 live series runs for the inning and it’s on all star. Got my timing down for that and it’s not even close to what it should be on HOF.
I just watch the circle and when it’s at about the size of the moving point, I bring it down. Not advanced enough to focus on multiple things at once, which screws me when I can’t pay attention to a pitcher’s release when I’m at the plate.
I'm the opposite. My timing is ok going between the two but my PCI placement gets all fucked up. I know it's bigger on All Stat so I get way too aggressive bc I feel like I can hit anything. It ends poorly. I'm way more selective on HOF and put myself in better spots.
So for ranked seasons is there now a certain reward for WS and then one for 40 wins? Or does it all come from the same pack.
Nice. I hadn’t looked into it yet but now that I’m finally on the RS grind figured I’d see how that works.
Speaking of, took a break to try to get 1 more win for 40 and was able to get it. Guy quit after I went up 2-0 in the 6th. Appreciate that.
Willpépé I bought Seager when I was doing Mo, just took Wieters. I have Prince already too. Any reason for me to get the others, Sandburg and Ryan? Will they be part of a future collection?
