I saw Kurt Vile last night at a benefit concert in a small local theater. He played solo, and I have to say while it had a few moments, I was overall disappointed. I knew it wouldn’t be a conventional show, but he came across as very awkward and shy. It was super intimate, but he didn’t want anyone to clap or provide rhythm, so without a band it was definitely missing something at times.
That guy was two rows in front of me and he was so fucking annoying. In addition, he was doing these bizarre hand gestures.
Mitski back after three years. Hopefully leads to an LP and, if it’s right for her and she is willing, another tour.

It’s certainly possible, but that stretch of dates is a little early for the radius clause to be in effect (They don’t really apply it uniformly though). I think she’s more likely as a pitchfork headliner, but I agree with you regardless she’ll end up at a festival in chicago at some point next year.
presalefortheknife was this morning’s that I whiffed on since bots ate them up within seconds. I don’t know about BrooklynVegan or Spotify or Psyko Steve.
Anyone know how the Spotify "presave" feature works? I want to add that Hand Habits album that's coming out in two weeks and don't see a way to do it. But I've seen artists telling fans to presave their upcoming release before. Only available in certain situations?
I'd check their social media. Usually they'll have a link setup to where you can either preorder the album or you can presave it using their link to Spotify.
yeah it’s usually done via smarturl.it and is a social link but there are a few different ways to do it
Did I completely underestimate how big Mitski is, or is there some other contributing factor that makes these such hot tickets?
I only know her bc of my daughter, she's her fav. I dig her though. Some unexpected guitar work in her stuff. Trading good music with my daughter has b/c one of my fav things ever.
I believe she’s had a few songs become incredibly popular via tik tok, so she might have interest from a new mainstream audience.
That’s fascinating. I have absolutely no reference point for mainstream popular music anymore though.
She’s massively popular. I also believe there was an article on here, she had quite a cult live show following even before she became more famous if you will.
She also is an excellent performer. I saw her on her "last tour" here in Phoenix in a much smaller venue with almost no struggle in getting tickets and she translates the interpretive dance she does in her videos onto the stage. Have fun, those who are getting to go.
definitely on the pop side of the spectrum, but this is one of the most fun albums Ive heard in a while
I will say that I am enjoying the pandemic giving us some late year releases. feel like most years it pretty much flatlines after around mid-october
