thats a really strong hire from a breaking-news-insider-perspective his work often got buried on Yahoo he will do some of the typical playing favorites, but he is about as close to Woj in CFB.
Thamel being in Urban's pocket while writing a bunch of hit pieces on Harbaugh is what makes me hate him more than the others. All these guys are state sponsored, but most of them don't use their platforms for stuff that obvious.
and he has an irrational hate for Harbaugh not giving him, or the media generally, access. He had a rant after the MSU loss about how all of his downfall is not letting enough NFL scouts to his practices.
my feelings on Wolken are sorta mixed. He does suck bad but his Twitter mentions are filled with some of the very worst people in America. ultimately I guess he deserves it.
the majority of people dont like him for his non-sports takes, when its his actual sports takes that are trash. But I would definitely show up to Publix on Wolken's behalf whenever he inevitable fights Barrett Sallee.
There has to be something personal that happened between Thamel and Harbaugh that has led to some of the stuff he's written. He's basically done a touchdown dance on Harbaugh every time something bad has happened for 5+ years now (and sometimes when nothing has happened), and I can't imagine he's the only coach who hasn't given Thamel access he's wanted.
That clown flies under the radar because a pro like Feldman gets a ridiculous amount of shit for being a mouthpiece aka having sources
At the Orange Bowl against Northern Illinois, one of our very well liked players was from a small town (population like 5000) in Florida and had a career game and won MVP. He’s basically the only athlete of note to come from that town. An older lady who wrote for the small town paper got credentialed for the game and told the player during the press conference they were proud of him. Thamel lights the lady up on Twitter for being unprofessional and wasting his time. Guy should get hit by a bus.
Feldman, because I think he generally roots for people to succeed because he's got so many of his guys across the country. The Mullen stuff this year was one of the first times I could remember Feldman really going after a guy. I know the deal with Bruce and his rooting is just kind of funny because it's so obvious.
as a CFB fan, this sucks. I realize even with 12 teams, the same teams will still be winning it...but the current format has gotten stale.
Players not wanting to add games - even if they matter for competing for a championship - is an interesting point that everyone is currently turning a blind eye to as lucrative television opportunities become bigger. These kids are understanding their earning power - and thus, their rights as players - way more so over time. Forcing them into longer schedules isn’t going to play out the way these administrators think it will. You’re gonna start seeing more regular season and even Playoff hold-outs.
IMO, these are the most exciting week one games. Let’s guess which ones get moved from Saturday to a different day. Utah vs Florida WVU vs Pitt Cincinnati vs Arkansas Memphis vs Mississippi State Army vs Coastal Carolina Houston vs UTSA Penn State vs Purdue Oregon vs Georgia Notre Dame vs Ohio State Thursday and Friday are currently barren, so I’m going to guess Miss State/Memphis and UTSA/Houston move to Thursday, and Penn State/Purdue moves to Friday. Big Nude: ND vs OSU 3:30: Utah vs Florida 7:30: Oregon vs Georgia Not a bad day.
