dblplay1212 sent me a pair he thought I’d like the other day… my immediate response was, “Ew, no hair!”
Also, I’m just going to delete the SNKRS app, as it’s pointless, apart from seeing the release schedule (sometimes). I’m resigned to all purchases being secondary
Not a big AJ4 guy like most but these are beautiful. https://sneakernews.com/2022/11/07/maniere-jordan-4-release-info/
Meh... Scratch offs & lotto tickets are nothing more than a poor tax. SNKRS isn't far off The site crashes non-stop, prior to the limited odds in actually getting chosen. Not worth the time or effort, especially when most releases can be had for tens of dollars over retail within a few days of release.
You've been doing this like 2 weeks lol. They aren't all just marginally more. Thankfully we haven't had a ton recently but it's not uncommon for a pair to retail for $150 and be $500 secondary right away. Hell look at the Chicago aj1, they are $400+ and a lot of people got access yesterday. The hype on Dunks is like 20% what it was a year or two ago though so you won't have to deal with it as much mow as you would then.
I haven't really been "doing" anything more than grabbing a few pairs. There will be no collection, or sneaker room, in my future. Marginal is relative. I'll gladly pay 2-3x retail on StockX, for a one-off pair I like, and not deal with a non-functional "lottery" app with a near 0% hit rate. SNKRS is just dumb
Use code SD2022 to get an additional 30% off. I was able to grab a pair for my wife and myself for $65 each
StockX appears to have dropped “authentication” from their website. I haven’t bought from there in a bit so idk what’s going on but saw this article. https://www.nicekicks.com/stockx-removes-claims-that-sneakers-are-authentic/
these are slick. a play on the nike air mac attack https://www.mcdowellsbrand.com/shop5r6r6r865rjj/p/air-pro-sport-2-silver-and-black
Lawsuit with Nike While this might seem like a minor adjustment, these small changes could offer big benefits to StockX as the Nike litigation alleges they can’t prove authenticity. By changing their claims from “Authentic” to “Verified,” StockX’s legal team may be able to create a semantic loophole that creates a gray area for StockX to not be liable for their inaccurate authentication process.
I’d think that “semantics loophole” is huge. If you’re paying for “authentic” but the company can’t guarantee that, what’s the point of buying from that company.
what? How the fuck did you get that from my post? My point was simply I’d go to a company that can authenticate the shoes I buy. I’m mean JFC.
Who? No company can guarantee it. That's the whole point of the lawsuit. Even a Nike rep is going to miss fakes occasionally. Only way to know 100% is if you order directly from Nike.
Yeah playing semantics might help them with that lawsuit but seems like it will do the opposite for their actual business though.
Yeah that whole business is bullshit. The resell shop in town has had quite a few pairs I’ve looked at that I’m almost positive were fake (several that I owned the same pair direct from Nike). If I sell them something they look for two seconds at most before closing the lid and talking to me about what price I’m looking for. Guy running the shop is in his twenties talking about how he has over 20 years experience authenticating sneakers
IDK who but after this who thing I’ve stopped buy from StockX and have ordered exclusively from Goat. Does that mean they have all been authentic? No but at least I believe they are. My point is simply if StockX is saying “we can’t authenticate your shoes, they might be fake” I would just go to goat or eBay. If those two said “we can’t either” then I’d probably stop buying secondary all together. One of the major reasons to buy from places like goat, StockX was because i believed I was buying real shoes. If that’s not the case why buy from them. I was just commenting on the “semantics loophole” to me it would be huge to you it doesn’t seem like would be.
Stockx is just changing their language to match Goat. Stockx used to say "100% authentic." That was dumb, nobody can guarantee that. Now they say "Verified", same as Goat. "We aim to only sell authentic", not "We only sell 100% authentic products, guaranteed!"
I was all in when they first announced they were coming and then by the time they got here i had lost interest.
