Do people who believe Briles did nothing wrong let him off the hook because they claim administrators and police never informed him of what happened?
If we hire Lebby I'm probably not watching Alabama football until he's gone. Maybe Saban too. We should be above that. He's a piece of shit.
Was Lebby contract mentioned in that first hot board that was posted https://www.si.com/college/alabama/...d-alabama-offensive-coordinator-all-things-cw
Nate keeps it to himself. Following people on twitter and actively covering up sexual assault aren’t really comparable.
if i were a recruit would i commit to an oats led team? no chance. but as an observer who doesn't have to interact with his right wing bullshit i don't really care.
you wouldn’t play for a coach based on who they may follow on twitter or where they align politically?
I didn’t know who Matt Walsh was but after google I’m certain I’ve seen him while doom scrolling on IG. I kept scrolling, he’s not for me. If I were in the spotlight as a recruiter/coach etc I would probably avoid almost anything that wasn’t purely sports related. My social media followers and following in general is pretty chaotic. Friends from grad school, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Antwerp, and all the other random places around the world I’ve lived vs my friends from the meth lab of a hometown SOG is from allow for some severe mental whiplash online. Probably one of the reasons I find myself abandoning ship quicker than most people. When I die please don’t hate me based upon my social media, hate me because of my shitposting here.
Joe Pa was one of those pivotal moments in time where the old guard met with modern accountability and “consequences will never be the same” or whatever they say.
i would personally not play for a team with any religious practices. no chaplains. no team prayer. no bible verse sharing. so i'd probably end up at a d3 school on the west coast.
Alabama: “I have a great relationship with the coaching staff. I definitely see myself fitting in that system. They’re also a great program. When I took my official visit, it was a great environment. We went to a football game and the fans loved me.” https://247sports.com/player/aiden-sherrell-46125406/
action that forces defense to switch + instill in players to attack the space / opportunity. take open shots. It’s so fun to watch.
spread the floor, high pnr, put defender in conflict, attack it. over and over and over again. defense stops the action, counter it. go go go.
1. I’m told Jimmy Sexton is the agent for BV, Saban and Lebby. One source said, “Sexton is like the puppeteer of college football right now. He has most of the big-names in CFB, and he can put pieces where he sees fit.” That said, the fact BV is also under the same agent allows him to be in the know, and from what I’m told Bama has sniffed around quite a bit. Sources also say that Lebby had stood strong, up this point, that he would like to stay at OU. 2. However, sources also say Bama hasn’t taken no for a answer and I’m told they are still trying to kick the tires around a bit with Lebby. Will that come into play at some point and make OU have to make a financial move or change some things up around the program to keep Lebby (stuff that might benefit OU/and I don’t know what that would be, but term has been stated to me)? Or, does Lebby feel his next move needs to be as a head coach — which he has turned down Louisiana and FAU behind the scenes, per sources. We tend to think it’s the latter and that Lebby sees himself moving on at some point as a coach running his own program, not as an OC elsewhere. 3. If there was a program that could end up swaying Lebby to take a sideways move or small step up, it would be Saban and the Crimson Tide. Still, sources continue to state, “He doesn’t want to leave his alma mater like it is and wants to get it back going in the right direction before he moves on,” the source said. “He also doesn’t want to leave the players that stayed to play for him like DG, Farooq and Arnold — who came to play for him. So, if you had to have me pick, I say he stays.” That’s what I have. If we start to hear things are moving in another direction, we will update you all.
i’m not sure there’s a moral difference between trying then failing to hire him and actually signing a contract with him
Sure there is. If we don’t hire him we can convince ourselves we never wanted him (just like a recruit), and this was all Sexton getting him a raise. We can believe that whether it’s true or not.
