Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I heard we cooled on Lebby. Never really wanted him imo. Attitude problems, locker room cancer.
Torvik expected score tonight using various filters
No filter - all stats all season vs all teams
- Alabama by 14, Total 134 (74-60)
Stats over last 12 games
- Alabama by 20, Total 142 (81-61)
Stats from SEC games only
- Alabama by 25, Total 141 (83-58)
Current Line - Alabama by 13.5, Total 142.5
Seems like the line and the total don't match up very well. Those numbers equate to Alabama winning 78-65.
State's total points scored vs Top 50 Defenses to date
52 vs Utah (N) (0.844 PPP)
63 vs Alabama (0.878)
53 @ Tennessee (0.851)
63 @ Auburn (0.891)
59 vs Tennessee (0.925)
59 vs Florida (0.960)
They haven't hit 65 points vs a Top 100 team all season and they are going to against us tonight?
If we pay over 2 mil for a guy like Lebby, I’ll be slightly disappointed
If we pay over 2 mil for anyone not named Riley I'll be disgusted.

Right now, we don't know what will happen with Jeremy Pruitt. I think ideally Nick Saban would like to hire him as his DC. That is the obvious part. They have worked together before. Saban has always respected his coaching ability and opinion, even when he's not at Alabama. Simply put, the two speak the same language -- football. If it was that simple I do think it would be done by now. JP is certainly an Alabama guy and it's a great job.
The issue is obviously the unknown with the UT situation. The NCAA is still carrying out this process and there hasn't been a final verdict. I don't know why it has taken so long but the NCAA tends to drag stuff out. So, the unknown is probably the hardest thing to overcome. That is my opinion. So obviously this is a final decision that will be made by Saban with input from others inside and outside of the program.
So what happens if JP is not hired as the DC? I think there is still a good chance Saban will try to bring him on in some capacity. There is no doubt he would like to have him on the campus, in the building. This has NOT happened. Does not mean it will, does not mean it won't. Saban is still sorting through everything from what we've been told. As we reported Saban is still spending a lot of his time on recruits. He's still visiting schools very hard every day, and as a former SEC head coach told me Monday: "Holy s*%t I think he recruits harder now than he did 20 years ago." So, recruiting through Sunday is his priority. Again, this doesn't mean he's not working the phones and gathering intel and information. I was told today that he's not in a rush to make the decision and OC has more of his attention right now.
One thing to consider is there is a lot of things still up in the air at the moment. This is a very unusual case. We aren't keeping anything from you. I would love for it to be Pruitt. He's a UA guy and a great coach. So I hope it's true as much as any of you guys/gals. But even the non-DC job would have to make sense to him on several different angles for him to take it. Any thought that is a cut and dried case is wrong. There is simply too much going, but there are smart people trying to figure it out right now. And they know way more details than the public.
lol. That update was prompted by Watts getting in a whiney insider bitchfest with a poster about Pruitt.
I just don't get being afraid of the NCAA in this case. His infraction was so minor in the context of modern cfb.
When you think about the 13m deal for the Miami kid that fell through, 40-50k pays for 4-5 days if that deal spans 4 years.
Like, suspend him a week and don’t let him talk to anyone. That’s the equivalent we’re talking with respect to today.
If what I was told is correct, the only worry they have is if they were to give him a show cause during the middle of a season.
NCAA is so toothless right who gives a shit? Will the NCAA even exist in 3-4 years?
