This is why I only collect Auburn players in the pros and players I grew up watching lol

 

Yeah I shifted a good bit if my focus to either vets/retired guys or Tennessee players from college/draft products.

 

I'm definitely open to hearing the argument that these cards companies aren't charging you more and giving you less.

 

No one is saying they aren’t though.

Yikes. You can get a heritage high number hobby box on Amazon for $67.

 

They also had Topps update blasters, but I've never had luck with those. Hangers for life

 

Are you guaranteed an auto in a hobby box of Heritage?

Remember the days when card companies at least had the decency to lie to you about it?

 

I thought they get a like 2 strikes and then they can’t bid or buy anything for a certain period of time

 

Just going after some of the big rookies, I have a little extra cash so just looking for a fun rip, Budget would be around $150

 

I know you guys are dying for me to elaborate on some of the things that bother me collecting auto sets. Some examples below, why are we making 'sets' where one card in the set is nearly impossible to find? I doubt any set collector will chase something where a One of One is required. Or to have every card a /99 except one in the set, we're going to make that a /5, what is the thought process here? To me they eliminate a type of collector who could add demand for that product, instead set collectors will just write it off.

 

It’s the same. In a case of 12 hobby boxes, I think the average is 3-4 autos.

 

Most of my purchasing is singles, I don't open much wax anymore. I just wanted to complain about the patches not even guaranteed to be anything related to the player on the card.

Yeah, I could see doing that with a player I like. Key would be to start with the 1/1.

 

Hopefully when Topps take over the NFL/PA license we get more on card autos.

 

Oh yeah, I've done that in the past. I have an Orange In Flight set. I usually just do whatever the base number is but in some cases I get a lead on one of the higher end colors and just go for that instead.

 

I'm not an Ichiro collector, I'll probably seek out some Darryl Strawberry 1/1 or if they exist Ron Gant. It'll give me something to search for on ebay tonight after I get back from the shelter.
