Better than the original. Also very pumped that DFA1979 is back together. Bloc Party vs. Death From Above 1979 - Luno (Silent Alarm Remixed)
Ok, now this isn't necessarily better than the original, but it's still excellent. When I first heard it during The Social Network's first trailer it blew me away.
I can't watch it at work, but I wanted to post that. I don't know if it's better than the original, but it's just as good because it's two completely different songs. I'm assuming you posted the Obadiah Parker version.
The original and the Animals version both top it. I usually don't hate on folks for their taste, but your opinion is a terrible one. Was a good version though.

Nope. Original NIN version is infinitely better. Sorry, but that "Johnny Cash is dead, so now we have to pretend he was a god" shit aint gonna fly in this thread.
Fuck that. Johnny Cash made that song surprisingly darker and more melodic than NIN did. After his insanely long and illustrious career, it says a lot when "Hurt" is considered one of his greatest vocals ever. Oh, and BTW, Johnny Cash was a god.
More melodic? The guy's voice sounded like he could have died at any point in the song. lol I suppose Kurt Cobain was a god too.
Yes, more melodic. And no, Kurt Cobain wasn't a god. He didn't have a career of 50 years making great music. I'm not a big country fan, but Johnny Cash was one of the greatest ever, imo, and "Hurt" was one of his best performances.
Alot of people covered satisfied mind by cash but jeff buckleys was only one who was close imo Cake's version guitar man/ i will survive better originals
a few that I enjoy more than the originals Tori Amos Angie Live Tori Amos - "I'm On Fire" (cover) Tori Amos - Smells like teen spirit (Most seen Tori Amos' video on You Tube) Tori Amos - After the Gold Rush (Live) TooL - No Quarter (Led Zeppelin cover) Alex grey Art Tool- You Lied with lyrics APC - Lovesong/Diary Of A Madman Time After Time Acoustic Lyrics
Great cover, not better than the original though. One of the most underrated bands of the 80s. idk if you know, but that's Eva Cassidy, not Norah Jones. She has a ton of great covers. Eva Cassidy-Songbird
Travelin' Light by Panic bros In all honesty, JJ Cale got a raw deal. Two of his songs are arguably the most popular songs of other artists. And before some Panic turd starts in on me I'm basing that comment off the fact that I see fucking Travelin' Light shirts all the time. I don't care if you think Blue Indian at Panic in the Streets was the bands defining moment.
