I think everything is caught up and pry half of them are beyond the books. There's another major storyline that wasn't introduced though and I have no idea if they will next season.
The show is caught up and past the books. There are other story lines in the books but they aren't in the show so it doesn't matter. Book 5 ends with the Jon and Dany scenes, but the show has advanced several of the characters further.

When that "happens" in the book there is a bunch of snow that has built up for them to jump on. I assume that is what they are implying happens in the show as well.

i don't science very well but can you jump hundreds of feet down and land on snow like that and not be seriously injured? i'm okay with that being the way they got out regardless. just kinda curious now and after a quick google to free fall research I see that snow banks are reasonably safe and that russians airdropped soldiers into snow banks out of planes in WW2 and "about half of them" were okay to fight upon landing. neatoscience

Well fuck. I do agree that Melisandre will be bringing Snow back. Things will probably be a bit awkward for him around the rest of the Watch. Actually him dying would technically end his vow, so the shit at the wall probably won't matter if he is brought back.
