Yea peak white panda was like 2010-11 with the Kanye/m83 mashup. I just found out about this Dicky one tonight but this one from the summer is p dope too
At this point he's basically past "hey fans share my video help me get noticed" to "I made it" right? I have no idea how to even judge relative musical fame these days but he has a shit ton of YouTube views and has worked with Snoop, Fetty etc
Who would y'all most like to see him make a song with? Eminem and Childish Gambino would be high on my list. Method Man could be fun. Feel like Drake has to happen pretty soon here
I would personally pick Method Man, was a teenager when 36 Chambers came out and Method was always my fav
Glover is the only one on that list I'd like to see. I hate Drake and feel he takes himself too seriously to do something w LD. Eminem would be interesting but they're style and rhyme scheme is so different that I cant even imagine it.
Oh he's definitely "B" list, and started at about "D". Still national TV is no joke. It's a step closer to the mainstream from Sway in the morning and such. Drake for sure. I like the idea of Childish, but I think he is past the point of doing anything remotely funny due to his own persona. Would love to see him get in with someone "old guard" like Andre 3K.
Meth made a song with Fred Durst who is about the shittiest white rapper on record and it was still good. I have no doubt a track with him and LD would crush it. Would be fun to get Redman involved as well. Their brand of hijinks and fuckery would be a good match I think
Maybe Em will have to wait until LD has a couple more releases and has fully cemented himself in GOAT tier (which I think he has potential to, strong homer). Imagine a song called something like "battle of the rap gods"
Prob the most likely of any listed. Gives him a chance to gain notability in the current scene and also allows him to just skirt the line of "wait is he serious or not"
That was me and for the record I agree wholeheartedly. I actually liked limp bizkit when that came out in 1999 and even then I was embarrassed for Fred. Stick with whatever that punk metal flow you had on the first record is, it ain't good but it's your own. But don't you ever. Ever. Ever ever ever. Try to equate yourself with real lyricists like method man. Hell id prob take kid rock in a battle against durst
side note when i was in college i skipped class and drove to dallas to see method man and redman, was incredible
Their album the blackout was flames. Definitely one of the best hip hop tag teams. Always love a song with two guys trading lines
I think you're right, but they're both Jewish, and Jewish folks tend to help their own. Because of that, I wouldn't be shocked if he did for that reason.
Just curious on the Drake stuff, have you listened to recent stuff? Or didn't like him before and called it a day?
Pretty much the latter. I've heard hotline bling because it's impossible not to, but other than that - not really. I was never really a fan of his music in the first place and his persona didn't help either. I'll be the first to admit I haven't given him much of a chance
I hear ya. I hate music debates because it's like food, each person is different. But I'd consider giving another listen, and if you do, listen to 'If you are reading this it's too late'
Real talk Truman I had the same opinion on drake but I had to come around after I heard how hard some of the songs go on that new album. Let me put you on this track right here dog
Basically when he actually raps the song is good most of the time. When he spends 90% of the time "singing" it sucks
Watching Conan and may actually stay up till midnight on a "school night" you better appreciate this LD.
Was nervous for him. Thought he did pretty well. I was hoping for an interview at the end. Disappointed in Conan
He did alright. Those late night shows arent the best setting for hip hop artists trying to introduce themselves to new audiences. Still - that's awesome for him
LD + lupe= heaven. I'd love to lupe go crazy intellectual with his lyrics to hear LD respond with "brain gotta poop"
He was on Michael Rapaport''s podcast. I'll get around to listening to it at some point http://www.iamrapaport.com/
I listened to that pod. LD doesnt come on until about 20 min in. It's nothing really new. Just kind of tells his life story that Im sure we all know about. Used his bar mitzvah money to make the videos, how he left his adverting job ect... However he tells some cool stories about meeting celebs that are excited to meet him, and how he's still in disbelief. Pretty cool that he realizes he's a thing now, but still can be a fan boy about certain things. Worth a listen imo.
He thinks Lil Dicky is comedy/joke rap. I tried to explain to him that dude has actual rap talent and all the subject matter isn't comedic but for some reason that's just a total nonstarter for him. I can't remember his issue with Lupe
Our boy is gonna be on some MTV show with nick cannon. Everythign about that sounds terrible. Will watch
