Any other light roast coffees you recommend from them? Need another bag to hit free shipping. sorry I just saw this but they bill it as immersion but it’s much easier to get a good cup of coffee consistently vs. V60. A good V60 cup is a higher payoff when it hits
All their stuff it pretty great & can't really go wrong. I've enjoyed these recently: Colombia - Albeiro Muñoz Ethiopia - Dur Feres
The eagle has landed! Now that I can pre infuse shots on light roasts, I just ordered a Kilo of Luna Strawberry Sundae ..
I ordered it in May 2020 - received it around August or September that year. I don’t think there’s a comparable grinder for the price vs. performance ratio under 1,000-1,500$, despite being a decent outlay to begin with. Well built, consistent grinds, fairly quiet.
I don’t take it apart as much as they prescribe but I do use the rocket air duster to clean up loose grinds pretty much every day or two.
Yeah I need to snag one of those but I’d just finished a darker roast than my usual and was also just curious. 63mm burrs vs 40mm (encore) is a massive difference.
Compared to Profitec 600, It had Flow profiling out of the box, rotary pumps, movable reservoir, and ability to plumb. The wood accents were certainly nice and the flow control knob is definitely a better design vs. the Profitec flow control, which sounds painful to use. I considered Profitec 700, which compares well and perhaps has a bit of a better build quality but I was buying from Clive Coffee (as I was trading my machine in for store credit) and they don’t carry the flow control versions. Whole Latte Love is the only retailer that sells Profitec machines with flow control installed. Besides, the Lelit just had some nice touches, like the wood accents and included naked portafilter.
Fellow Drops has been my favorite purchase/subscription in the last 6 months BTW... if some of you aren't signed up, you should
Ordered a bunch of light roasts from Hatch Coffee in Canada .. Free shipping on 3 or more bags and about 16 USD for a 10oz bag .. very good price and I've heard great things about their roasting and sourcing. El Paraiso Castillo Decaf (Mangosteen, Lemonade, Cane Sugar) Basha Bekele Farm Sidama (Raspberry, Blackberry Jam, Pineapple, Honey) Okoluu Dambi Uddo Guji (Nectarine, Strawberry, Orange Crea)
El Injerto arrived today with some wild tasting notes, sweet and tropical notes, caramel covered apples, limes, and pink lemonade. Pink vs regular lemonade, can’t wait
What’s this threads preferred home brewing method? I have a French press, aero press, v60, mako pot, and a standard cheap drip coffee maker. Not sure which I like best tbh
I’m not fluent in best way to use the things I have but I feel like my v60 is more time consuming than French press. Less babysitting
Once the water reaches temp it's about 5 minutes until I can drink a cup versus about 10 for French press
The press lets you do other things while it brews, and that’s nice. Pour over demands your attention while it’s happening.
Anybody else get this one from fellow drops? First bag from them that isn’t doing much for me. Very strong tea flavor to me but that’s it (at least from v60). also got to use my new WDT this morning but my grind was way to coarse to comment on improvement
You ever had any beans from Panama? They tend to have tea like profiles, which I perfer. https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and...now-when-does-coffee-taste-like-tea-1.3674094 https://www.travelandleisure.com/trip-ideas/panama-most-expensive-coffee-in-the-world
I would try a different brew method if you didn’t like it in V60. I usually try with the kalita wave if V60 isn’t hitting. I liked them but not the best I’ve had. Prefer the geisha from Verve.
Has anyone had an Indonesian coffee that wasn't nutty/earthy? Happymug has a light roasted natural from sulawesi that they claim is fruity without much earthiness that defies everything I've experienced from the region
Finally took things to the next level and purchased a Stagg EKG. Cup I brewed this morning didn’t disappoint
Anyone get the upgrade Ode grinder? https://fellowproducts.com/products/ode-brew-grinder?variant=39859573817444
I got the Manhattan Diego Bermudez beans from that drop - a little $$ but I've heard great things and the Thermal Shock processing sounds interesting as F.
I got the Ethiopian from anchorhead two weeks ago. It’s good. First time using fellow drops and I like it. The drop today said the roaster was awarded best in America in 2019. Located in Brooklyn. Just so happens I’ll be in NYC in two weeks, so I’ll probably check that place out.
