FWIW - PP's from Chase now support e-card access through the app, instead of having to travel w/ physical card.
have been to the same place in the same airport. I would never do such a thing, but if you happened to be on a company trip, you would get the bill and charge it to the company as part of your travel meals but the card essentially gives you that for free. I could see others doing something like that. I have heard some people that travel frequently by air, do it because of work and not for fun on their own.
Ended up getting delayed in New Orleans. They cancelled it so early it had pretty much no effect other than having to burn an extra day of PTO. Thanks for dinner, breakfast, and hotel, Chase.
yeah def get your free money if it's a flat per diem. we have a daily $ limit on meals but only pay back the card for amounts charged for meals. employees don't get to pocket the difference
I had a few friends who worked at Deloitte who had a flat per diem. It was definitely a nice perk for them as they weren't into splashing a lot of cash for meals.
That’s how it was when I worked in Big Four accounting. I was on a long-term engagement in upstate NY and they let us “meal average” for the week. Used to eat “modestly,” kill it Thursday night, and have enough left to order some takeout when I got home Friday to last me through the weekend before I had to go back. I didn’t go to the grocery store for 2 months.
If I'm traveling with someone and guest them in to a lounge I'll expense the $32 PP guest fee. I'm not going to leave them hanging while I go to the lounge, and I figure it's cheaper than the two of us going to an airport restaurant.
Anything special with Southwest cards right now? Essentially lost all my status last year and have a new job and I’ll be flying SW a lot it seems. Need to get to A-list ASAP don’t really care about companion.
40K when you spend $1k in 3 months for southwest priority rewards card. here's a referral if you go that route Earn 40,000 points with the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card. I can be rewarded too, learn more. https://www.referyourchasecard.com/255/6BQTQPQS75 but, this one for rapid rewards plus is offering 60K points. says it goes towards companion pass, but not sure about A-list, but I'd imagine it would https://creditcards.chase.com/a1/so...V2LbACh3kKQ9PEAAYASAAEgIEu_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds edit: all 3 options are available with that second link. just have to spend $2k in 3 months
Yea little concerned they aren’t Tier Qualifying Points and thus you can get companion without being close to A-List.
You mean a one flight A list upgrade or the ability to get back to A list status for the year? Latter seems absurd but would be awesome.
The latter. Lots of airlines/hotels do it but I don't think SW is one of them. They understand life happens and you might have a kid and miss qualifying for a year so they give you a one-time exemption Well they have status matching for sure, so do that before you have three flights coming up
Been out of town with the wife so catching up reading the last few pages. A lot have had questions regarding CIP's. I have gotten CIP1, CIP2, and CIP3 for myself and for my wife. I plan on applying and getting CIP4 tomorrow. Two things matter for this: 1) Velocity of applications 2) Income to Chase CL ratio (prefered under 50%). You do not need to vary your name or SSN/EIN. Apply with your first and last name for everything including business name and just use your SSN. You should not have any issues. As long as you are under 5/24 there is no reason not to just continuously get this card. Earn 80,00 bonus points with Chase Ink Business Preferred. I can be rewarded, learn more. https://www.referyourchasecard.com/21/HFWNVTCCIC
AMEX Platinum just came thru in the clutch. We're at a resort and the only nice restaurant here is "booked solid". We didn't make reservations bc of reasons ...walked up to the hostess and the restaurant is maybe 3/4 full. Get turned away. First time ever happening. Literally 5 minutes after I call concierge, we walk back up.
Yea. I said this is awkward...im sorry, we really need to eat and this is the only nice restaurant here. Followed by awkward silence. My wife said "were ready now" same time tomorrow night.......if you have it available.... Im sure you do ". Wow. Power move from a 5'2" woman.lol
The wine here is absolutely an abomination. I just ran back to the room and grabbed a $50 bottle of cab and brought it back.
Air quotes confirmed. Winery / Vineyard in GA. The rooms are really nicely though. So is the golf course.
Of course. It's a legit Vineyard. I've had better stuff for $3.99 at Kroger. But, the place is very relaxing.
how long does it usually take for your 50,000 bonus points to hit your account once you've met your spend requirements with the sapphire reserve
ohhaithur fiance tried to do the CSR double dip but was denied on the CSP part of it this morning. I think the problem was that opened a new tab in her incognito browser instead of opening up a fresh incognito window. Is there a fix at this point or is it game over for her as well?
Finally got my dad's approval for his first CIP card, just did the business ink with his personal info(Only a $5,000 credit limit which is interesting given his income and credit score) I guess the move now is to start referring himself to the businesses? There's 4 total businesses so I guess if it works out for all of them he could be sitting at about 500,000 points when they all clear. I'd imagine that's plenty for his Hawaii trip. Thanks for the help guys!
Makes sense. I was googling it and thought it was saying they would only honor one of the signup bonuses so couldn't think of any other benefit.
You were smart enough to not call into CHase unlike someone I know who did precisely that - trying to get a recon on the rejected app and getting a review on the rest of your accounts!
After reading the first post, I do have a question regarding the Chase CC options. Looking to add a card to my fiancés wallet and I leaning to the Chase Sapphire Preferred compared to the Reserve, but the post on page 1 makes me think I should go Reserve. Is the Reserve really worth the $495 fee?
Yes it's worth it. It's effectively $150 annual fee after the $300 credit. Plus the sign up bonus and 3x points in travel, food, etc. https://thepointsguy.com/guide/chase-sapphire-reserve-review/ It's been a while since in looked at CSP so I don't remember the specific benefits on that card, but I think generally speaking, CSR is worth it.
