Looked at my ride history tonight b/c I felt plateaued. My last few 60 min Power Zone rides are actually up ~8% on average from two months ago. Wouldn't have noticed that at all if I hadn't looked at data, it was an invisible gain from a feel perspective. I'm riding mostly Power Zone, and change feels so subtle when you're just cranking miles and miles of tempo while listening to horrendous music.
Does peloton use these cleats?? If so Myx uses them too. Coming from triathlons/road bikes, I really hate these cleats. The platform feels wobbly and unstable. Might have to switched out peddles for these. Bot sure if I'm just used to the below style, but they feel mich mlre stable vs the above. I'll try to see if I can get used to them before I buy new peddles
I am going to start the new core program on Monday. Hopefully I’ll get my shout out for ride 2200 on Monday. 3 rides away I’ll do them today and tomorrow.
Yeah no worries. Crushed my old PR. But the last 15 were rough. I partially blame Emma for that, Yesterday. And I run a couple times a week. Overall, Wasn’t as bad as I thought. But good. Forgot what’s it’s like to do a ride with people in the studio.
I hadn’t heard of this before now. Mine is on a mat on hardwood floors. Should I be moving the bike every so often?
I’m going to start it next Saturday. I won’t workout (cycle) Friday so I can be fresh. How was the ride I’m not a fan of hers and an hour of her isn’t something I normally do. I think I did the 30 minute class BP mentioned. I enjoyed it. What are your user names on there so we can follow each other? I’m beerstolemy6pak
Ill be changing jobs in a few weeks from rotating shift work and will be hitting this on the daily while working remote as my office will be the workout room so no excuses.
Has anyone noticed in the last couple of months that the majority of instructors seem more yoked than they were prior? I wonder if they changed up-dialed up/implemented a stricter nutrition/exercise plan for them (random thoughts).
i have the bike+ and want to get the tread is the current deal of $400 off for accessories, delivery and setup good or will there be better deals coming up?
You guys do a lot of live rides? Think I've only done one. Usually do on demand due to the time I ride.
Did Wilpers 90 minute endurance ride yesterday, 950 Output, new PR by over 100 :O I hate doing the Power Zone fitness test, but I think is time... sigh
Those are some of my favorite rides. People put off by 90 minutes but it is a very flat ride. They are great workouts.
I only did Wilpers Saturday morning PZ rides live. I generally didn’t workout when a live ride was available.
Yeah it sucks. Then only class I ever quit was Olivia's FTP. I bonked so hard. I'm gonna redo mine once I finish this 5K training plan
Yeah it's tough to get a shout-out unless it's a big milestone even still it's not a guarantee. Especially with as many riders as they have sometimes.
I only do a live ride if it happens to start when I want to ride and has an instructor I like. I did plan a live ride for my century and got a shoutout, but it was in the 5 minutes before the ride started so its not recorded anywhere, and he was just reading a list of names of people that have milestone rides. Also having a Bike+, I like the on demand rides because the resistance is programmed in and I can let the bike auto-adjust.
Can't talk about the Bike, but for Tread, live classes aren't as great. You aren't given the speed and incline rate range when it's live. As someone that needs a distraction during runs, I can't pay attention for 20-60 mins on cues from the instructor.
I've done like 2 live rides and a live yoga. Live rides suck. Live yoga is good though and doing 1 tonight with my girl Anna.
She is such a tease always waits till close to end to do it. She knows what she is doing. Didn’t mention the ride number so I’ll assume she just wanted to say may name while she was short of breath lol
I’m a strange dude. I admit I have certain issues. One is validation. I need constant validation it stems from childhood trauma. I try to do all my milestone rides live. Again I get a lot of you dint care about the shout outs but I do. Sometimes I wish I didn’t but you can’t help who you are. I honestly should have about 10 more rides but I deleted some because I didn’t get a shoutout and wanted to take the milestone ride again to try and get it. I’ve gotten better I don’t do that anymore and I even did ride 2150 on demand. I have OCD and don’t want to blame it but I think that also has something to do with me needing to do live milestone rides.
Are all bikes calibrated the absolute same or can your output jump from bike to bike? I haven't beaten my PR on my current bike in literally 6 months, but did a ride over Christmas on another bike and beat by PR by 10 kJ for a 20 minute ride. Was that due to that bike just being 'easier' or did I tap into something insane for those 20 mins? On the downside, did my first ride in 10 days after COVID, and I am way off. Gonna take some time.
I did and enjoyed it. Had issues (of my own causing, old shoes, not enough stretching) that ruined some of my long runs, but overall it is a good guide. Do NOT skip the strength classes.
I would delete like 5 minute cool down or warm up rides not the actual milestone ride. I would also go back a month or two so I wouldn’t mess with the monthly mileage. Like I said I have issues lol
Hi fam, so my wife and I are finally going to bite the bullet and buy a Peloton Bike. I've used them before many times at a gym but wanted to ask some questions here before we buy. Does anyone have any experience with the Healthcare worker discount, or if it's even still active (basically a free set of shoes, headphones and weights)? I see very little on their website about how to actually apply this discount. Probably will have to call customer service in the AM. And on this subject, how are the Peloton brand shoes? Would it just be better to apply the $100 referral code rather than using the Healthcare discount and buy shoes somewhere else? My wife likes to do an occasional spin class at the gym too so I want her to have comfortable shoes. The peloton weights seems overpriced and I wouldn't use the headphones so I'm almost leaning towards just doing the referral code. Are the extended warranties worth it? Any other tips or advice?
The referral code is also on accessories, not on the bike. So the essentials is probably better for you
EdmondDantes 1. no experience with that discount but I’d assume they just take the price off the total. 2. I like the Nike cycling ones better but peloton just came out with some new ones those seem better. 3. I don’t ever think extended warranties are worth it.
Sometimes it is good to promise yourself to do one so you have to log on at that time and follow through. But I rarely do them
My wife and I did the healthcare discount. It just applies to accessories and doesn’t take off from the total of the bike. We originally were gonna use I think ID.me which verifies that you work in healthcare, but we went into one of those pop up peleton shops in the mall and bought it that way. We used the discount there and got help with it from a worker. We got one free pair of shoes and a yoga mat and maybe one other thing I can’t think of right now.
