I get it, but still, who out there is clamoring for Greg Schiano as a head coach right now? I’d argue he needs that job as much as Rutgers needs him to take it.
Schiano would probably be alright in life if he never worked a day in his life. Rutgers can’t afford to act as if they’re relevant. They need the best they can get, they can’t be picky. Really, just wish the B1G would kick them out. They bring nothing, in any sport. Maybe women’s basketball? Woohoo.
dont think it’s really the money. $4 a year in the big ten is just not much. It’s apparently the expensive things he wanted that are, you know, tools to actually do the job and incentives that align with what you think the school would want (season ticket purchases). It all seems like smokescreen and a smear campaign because the AD wanted to entrench himself
I mean, it’s more than Fleck is currently making and only $600k less than he’ll make next year. It’s significantly more than Tom Allen, the same as Lovie Smith and within $500k of Day, Dantonio and Chryst. It’s not like everyone in the B1G is making $10 million and they were offering Schiano table scraps.
It's fucking stupid how they framed it as he would be in the "bottom quarter" of B1G coaches. No context whatsoever and I'm not quite sure if I buy that only 3 other B1G coaches are making less than $4M.
I can assure this Tony Soprano-sounding guy that coaches linebackers at Michigan won’t be offered $4 million.
nah. our womens bball team hasnt been all that good in a while. they won the nit a few years ago. they're currently losing on the sec network to lsu as we speak. we have had a few good wrestlers and a competitive womens soccer team. aside from going 8-5 in football our first year in the B1G, its been a shit show. to be fair, we were equally as bad at everything when we were in the big east. if we guaranteed schiano 25 million, he would probably get fired within his first year for calling the custodian a janitor or some strange pc bullshit like that. people dont realize how impossible it is to work for rutgers athletics. nobody cares but everyone has an opinion and it usually results in someone getting fired and the school paying out millions.
You know whose name you dont hear for any openings? Jeff Jagodsinski. What is that guy doing? Still think he had the ability to make BC more than a doormat if he had been patient and not bolting for other jobs.
Offensive line coach for Bob Stoops’ Dallas Renegades in the XFL. Look at this career trajectory. Quite the arc and then crash and burn.
I think he got fired from the Bucs as OC during the preseason that year because he couldn't get plays called in time. It's so weird that he went from a hot commodity to not sniffing a big job since. I wonder if something happened to the guy or if he just stumbled into a head coaching job and initial success with Matt Ryan as his QB.
I remember ripping the addition despite the whole Big10 network deal here and I was told "You don't get it". So many takes I was right on were erased on the crash. People lost their mind by me saying Adam Vinatieri was a HOF'er.
There is a 3rd brother named Vito that coaches the high school Nunzio used to coach. Anthony not going by Tony is an all time upset.
