so both drummers are sick with (supposedly non-rona illnesses that aren't serious) or something else is going on?
Saw Jay Lane filled in for Billy last night, not sure about Mickey. Side note, the setlist last night at RR was filled with some heat. Hoping for a Terrapin on Saturday at Fiddler’s
Mayer and Weir together is a fucking genius move for both. I didn’t realize it until I saw them in Denver a couple weeks ago. It’s truly magical.
Johnna’s guitar play was sensational when I went. Bobby just plays rhythm most of the sets these days, speaks to his trust of him
sorry but this is a deal breaker for now. great concept and once this is addressed it’ll be fantastic but you can’t have broken up songs listening to GD.
i told my wife I invested $50k into this. She’s livid. Stormed out of the room before I could tell her I was kidding and now being passive aggressive. Now I’m mad at her for the way she acted. May be the dumbest fight we’ve ever had. I’ll let her sleep on it.
I’m a tad hesitant as well. The GD Amazon doc he did a few years was good, but it was a documentary, not an original film.
by literal definition, yes. the guy has like a 90 percent hit rate and is the greatest living director. Let him cook fellas
Random factoid / something I did not know until today... before they were the Grateful Dead, the Warlocks did some backup session work for a documentary called "Sons and Daughters" based on an early anti-war protest. Spoiler
They really need to come out with an app similar to LP with all of the officially released shows on it. I’d gladly pay $100+/year for that.
I enjoy them a lot for what they are. Not my favorite Dead related band, but always a fun show and good music to chill to. What platform are you using to listen to them?
I listen to the Sirius channel nonstop in my truck but really have just been listening to shows on YouTube
I’m well aware of Relisten, thanks. I’ve got hard drives full of GD FLACs, too. I’d just prefer all the officially released remastered stuff in one app.
https://fb.watch/a5XjjMogqi/ Edit: guess this doesn't embed like other Facebook posts, but it's Mickey as Spock doing a mind-meld on Santa Jerry from 1987.
That DVD is nice. I lost it, bit then again, no one uses DVDs anymore. I don't have too much money, so I had to pick and choose what shows I'm going to see this spring. I decided on the three night SCI run in Asheville, mainly to see the new venue and old friends.
I've just started listing to Goose and they're pretty good. The one thing I hate, and I sound like a jaded douche, but I can't stand these young kids walking around with tattoos of dancing bears and shit. But they listen to all this electronica music. Ask them one GD song, besides TOG, CJ, or FOD and they can't do it. Got to keep it alive!
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places when you look at it right. My favorite line, in any song.
One more Herb Burdette is lit tonight thought, Europe 72 might be the best live album by any band ever. Delilah Jones just went to meet her God.
