Peloton acquired Precor. Pretty amazing how quickly their momentum has become where they have acquired a name in almost every gym growing up. Would imagine this is to help their supply chain problems and start being able to produce equipment quicker. Can't see much equipment that Peloton would fold into their arena. Although I suppose it could be a venture into more of a public domain.
That guy Anison PRed today on a 30 minute personal floatation device holiday ride with Jess King. It was a terrible ride but you know...
I love the move and so does the market. This is going to be a great way to ramp up production and serve more commercial markets. Today was a very good day. Also, I saw the new Tread in the showroom today. Looks great. It’s got a smaller footprint than the + which I think will be popular and it still looks like a premium product.
Excited to see where the stock goes tomorrow. Should have bought more when it fell to $100-110 in November, but at least I didn’t trade out then.
It has been 29 days since i got my bike. I cracked 200 kj for the first time today. Want to preserve this moment in text form so i can look back on it in the future.
Got the bike on April 30, took me until May 22 to hit 200 on a 30 minute ride. Keep getting after it.
Harsh. but I think your point is how great it is to look back after a year and see how far you've come.
it was a play on “remember my first beer” joke. Currently at my in-laws after the service. Trying to make dumb jokes to lighten my mood. Meant absolutely no disrespect.
Not really. it's a safe space. I know for me and danny boy peloton is our medicine. not a competition against anyone else.
Congrats, man. My favorite thing about Peloton is the goal setting, challenge and history associated with it. I had a firm goal I wanted to hit by Labor Day and felt pretty damn good hitting it my last ride of August.
yeah ShuPoor was simply meant as joke. My peloton is as much for mental health as it is a work out machine.
Took 5 days off bc I’ve been busy getting stuff done around the house... holy shit it’s easy to lose progress/momentum. Leg soreness is about like it was when I got the bike a year ago. Eating and drinking like hell those 5 days didn’t help, but still.
Shit, I knew I’d think of Christmas ideas too late. Which one do you own? Edit: nevermind, found it by searching this thread
Lack of new classes over the next week. Gonna have to dig into the backlog. As a newer member, most classes I have taken have the instructor in an empty room. I prefer it in comparison to them teaching in full classes pre-pandemic
I just wanted to get used to the cycling aspect, but I assume I will get weights soon. Been a bummer that I haven't been able to go to a gym or do any lifting in a year now. Any stories as to the success of doing any weight exercises on the bike? Seeing any results?
Success and results are subjective terms. I enjoy bootcamp and strength classes. I can pack on size easy because of my body type so using “heavier” weights even on the arms classes on the bike have helped me. If you can afford it I’d pick up a set of the dumbbells Peloton sells. I think it’s a set from 10 or 15 to 30s. Using 10 pound weights on a arms cycling class gets you there especially since the instructors assume you’re using 3 pound dumbbells at the heaviest.
Bike bootcamps have been a game changer. my wife conceded she was checking me out while I was brushing my teeth last week. no big deal.
Got my bike 11/2 and hit my 50th ride today. Have my alarm set for like 5:15am so I can hopefully do a 45 minute ride before driving 3 hours. Really tempted to order those peloton weights soon but not sure what weight to get. Was hoping I could find some cheap/generic ones and get 10-15-20s but they’re sold out most places it seems. Just would prefer to have a couple different weights without spending a bunch.
dumbbells are impossible to get right now and probably will be for the foreseeable future. I’d pick up at least 25 or 30 and 10 or 15s.
