How much yall wanna bet if there's any TMZ video from it it's used in the promo for his next fight? Dana probably happy as shit about this.
Khabib is hiding from Tony Just watched Khabib's UFC debut. I don't remember his stand up being that bad. It's pure garbage. Dude has come a long way.
Granted I would have to go back and rewatch but I think he has improved greatly. The Al fight he stood and boxed most of the fight and he looked alright vs McGregor. Might be my quarantine time killer for tonight.
Yea, I mean if he were anyone else he'd get his head boxed off, but everyone has to worry about him grapple fucking them quite literally to death. His hands have gotten better, but Al tore him up on the feet iirc. I also love Al so I could be reaching. And Michael Johnson almost knocked Khabib out, didn't he? Or did he just clip him?
Just rewatched this fight after your comment. MJ got him with 2 good shots in the 1st and it did look like Khabib's knees got wobbly. Rogan definitely over sold it as "HES HURT HES HURT!" but it didn't seem THAT significant.
Yea, I kind of thought that. Those are the cleanest shots he's taken since being in the UFC. Khabib still just sucks to watch even though I appreciate the wrestling and grappling more these days than I used to. I was hoping Khabib would finally get the Tony fight over with and then retire win or lose.
Just stumbled onto a YouTube channel called StreetBeefs. It's backyard MMA that has some dudes with talent. Someone is 100% going to die from this shit buts it's entertaining.
I fell into that rabbit hole ~6 months ago. That white in the second video taps everyone from what I saw/remember. There's one where two big boys start throwing and one dudes nose explodes like nothing I've ever seen or heard before. I'll have to try and find it. They immediately called the fight and with everyone gasping in a crowd as rough as those are, you know it's bad. They didn't show the dudes face again. None of these people have health insurance.
Yeah, Beach has a slick bjj game. Pretty solid if he could learn to punch and block punches. There's no health insurance in the meth industry
Not sure why anybody's clamoring for that fight anyway. No Khabib fight is that fun outside of the Connor fight, and that's just due to the emotion/hatred. You know what people should be dying to see? Gaethje/Connor. That's gonna be a war.
Poirier's interview with Helwani this week made a lot of sense on TF. With that being said, he's a lot of fun promoting a fight, and always brings a war. It's probably best for somebody like him, or Connor, or Gaethje to get the belt off Khabib so we can have some fun title fights again.
Poirier nearly had him out in that choke. And ftr I'm not knocking how dominant Khabib is. Just think his style is pretty boring. Similar to Jon Jones now. Dominant and HOF? Of course. But I'm not clamoring to see either of them fight.
Yea I’m with you on his fights sucking for the most part even though I've grown to appreciate how dominant he is, but I had high hopes that Tony could beat him. Then we are off to the races at 55. The matchups are endless.
Yea, Khabib's style is both incredibly dominant and boring. But the part that has/had me so intrigued about the fight is just from a purely strategical standpoint of someone attempting to crack the code on that style. Its always fun to see how the sport evolves and guy's styles (ala Machida, Maia, etc) eventually get figured out. The longer it goes without someone breaking it, the more intriguing it gets to me.
Yea, that's where I am. Like I said, I have grown to appreciate Khabib and what he's done. Just like everyone else, I've always thought Tony had the full arsenal it's going to take to beat Khabib. Is there a more offensive fighter from their back? That with his insane cardio could do the trick. Ferguson has really only been in trouble recently when he got clipped by Lando and Pettis. I don't think he's got to worry about that with Khabib.
never listen to an active fighter porier also believes he 100% beat everyone in his division, which i respect because every fighter should have that thought, but he has a very strong bias
