Don't know how many times I ran upstairs when I got home from school in second grade to watch this movie.
The Lion King is one of two movies I've seen in theaters three times. (The Dark Knight is the other.)
You were probably 10 or 11 when the original came out and you hated cartoons then? Also not surprising.
I was 10 when the movie came out, so playing sports mostly. I did watch some kids shows just not cartoons. Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Are you Afraid of the Dark were all badass. I watched the Simpsons, and later South Park, but I don't consider them to be "cartoon" cartoons.
having a hard time seeing Timon and Pumbaa translating well to live action, but after how good Jungle Book was I will definitely give this a shot.
On the surface this sounds terrible but I didn't realize the new jungle book was awesome so cautiously optimistic The lion king is easily the best animated movie ever made imho
Most amazing thing about Lion King imo, it is almost universally loved. Even hipsters and crotchety old men (who have seen it) love the movie.
My siblings are all older than me, so there was zero chance I would get a chance to watch it even if I wanted.
Jungle book seems older for some reason. Lion King seems too knew and when animation was getting real good
