I'm on episode three, you can clearly tell when buddy wants to go off and remembers the cameras are there. Also, I.Wright doesn't get it and that's unfortunate. But the kid is doing long term damage to himself.
Pretty pleased the red raider is the one guy who can actually read. Also probably explains why we're so shitty at football.
Shit I think she looks better. In a lot of The earlier episodes last year. You could tell that she was one of the southern females who used a bit too much makeup.
I was pretty shocked by how good a kid hes coming off as so far (I just started watching). Its so easy for someone to stand out on our awful defense and after the incident i would not have thought he was that kind of kid. Super polite, works hard in the classroom. I am curious now about the circumstances of that robbery. Maybe just young kids being dumb
Him and DeAndre Johnson were the best of the featured kids on the show. All the weed kids were a bunch of ass holes
Spoiler: Buddy Stephens is a huge piece of shit. That comment he made to the OC about "that shit may work with your ex-wife..." was completely out of line.
Am I the only one who thinks that EMCCs offensive philosophy totally kills the chance for them to have a good defense?
It reminds me of watching Texas Tech. Even years where we have had a chance to have a half way decent (for the big 12) defense, they are gassed by halftime because our offense has run 75 pass plays before the game ends. Plus it puts you in a situation where if your offense comes out cold some random game, you get fucking murdered
He's a rather petty SOB. The producers are trying to show him in a better life that (the religious stuff and interviewing his daughters). But I'm not falling for that shit
I don't really think they are. I think they're showing that he says he wants to change but he's full of shit. You're not far enough in
His daughters legit piss me off. You have six episodes of your day cussing up a storm and throwing players under the bus. But they roll with the line of "he's the coach and sometimes you have to be like that. He's not like that at home" News flash sweetheart. People think your father is a twat and you aren't helping the situation by defending him.
And he was punishing him like a child for thinking there were 12 men on the field. That happens at least once a season in my experience. It's not good, but it's better than getting a penalty if you really do have 12 men on the field. Kicking him upstairs doesn't even make sense. You demote him from playcaller because he miscounted guys? That's just petty shit. And the ex wife comment should have gotten him knocked the fuck out
Kam's situation is confusing. Especially considering the fact that he has what seems to be a very positive Uncle.
I'd they don't follow EMCC next season and actually do another team. Watching the Coahoma team would probably be fun.
Man I am only a couple episodes in but this concussion situation is really upsetting me. The trainer is like "hey we need to sit him. Its not worth it" and the coach is like "he didnt even get hit in the head!" god damn what a fucking asshole
Almost every sideline in America. I said it last season, but in my experience being around college football coaches, Buddy is closer to the rule than the exception.
Yeah with all that money and pressure flying around it makes sense but its something I think we all don't want to admit is real. That sucks :/
It's fine as long as the coach isn't actually putting him back in the game. And I took Buddy's comment as more of exasperation and frustration than anything else.
I mean it sounded a little better with the beat, but I enjoyed it more that the kids liked it so much than me actually liking the song lol
Nah that school loses all the story lines. Can't do one on a bunch of random scrubs whose story is they weren't and aren't good enough at football. Coaches were cool though, they'll be out of there as soon as possible
Almost finished up now and he is huge pos. The whole treatment of i Wright's injuries and his treatment of the assistants on the sideline in ep 7. I'm surprised he hasn't had his ass whooped by a player or assistant yet
That's a thing with almost every school in the south between high school and d1. Never understood it but it's common as fuck
Oh fuck that cunt. Edit: Her shithead son gets thrown out of school and she heckles the coaches from the school that accepted him? She's the worst person in the entire series
Those games aren't that loud, she's very close. Standing there inciting shit the whole game, you or I would get kicked out for that too
I feel like cynical asshole but man the whole "thats when I found my lord and savior Jesus Christ and decided to become not an asshole" storyline feels very not real
If she had held her son as accountable as she tries to hold everyone else, he wouldn't be in Scooba. Physician, heal thyself.
my friends that played jc football in northern california said that Buddy is everywhere. it was probably worse 10 years ago but one of them was basically benched for half a season because he said he wasn't ready to play a week after being knocked out cold during a punt return.
I am 5 episodes in and I can't help but wonder when all these guys talk about offers... The only reason they go there is to have enough time pass for people to forget what they did wrong and offer them a spot. Yes, it was 2 years ago but Deandre Johnson still cold cocked a girl at a bar. He deserves a "second" chance to make something of his life but maybe not the right to play big time football again. (Not trying to turn this thread into that). Scooba doesn't rid the stigma, just passes time. Very few "change" like it appears the former Texas Tech LB did.. Edit: I should differentiate..guys that struggle academically (looking at you Mr. Louisville) are totally different than those that committed crimes.
not that i expect these guys to be geniuses but how in the hell did some of them graduate from high school? i thought the same thing about ronald ollie
When i was in school i worked for the athletic department. The resources, time, and energy that go into getting some of these guys to the absolute bare minimum is really staggering. Some of them are super thankful for all the support and take full advantage of it (Jakeem Grant who is on the Dolphins now was an absolute model kid while I was assigned to him. 15 minutes early for every class, never missed an assignment, etc) but some of the other guys literally couldnt make it to a class at noon even if thats all they had the whole day. Even with their eligibility and career on the line.
