lol at them interviewing OIlie from him last season and that other guy being like "best of luck to you Buddy Stevens" and Ollie is like "man FUCK that boy" lmao
I thought that was hilarious. I'm glad he's doing so well at NSU. That's about an hour drive away from me. JF3 never really found his sea legs at Auburn. They also just got that transfer QB from Baylor. So I don't think he gets on the field this upcoming season.
JF3 was never a QB. The only reason Jimbo even entertained the idea was that he was best friends with 5* RB Alex Collins and it was believed they'd be a package deal. Then Collins signed with Arkansas and we settled for Dalvin Cook in the next class.
Google Ollie transfer and the first thing that pops up is an sb nation article. No schools are actually listed. But he said that he wasn't happy at NSU. One thing Ollie &a Kam have in common is the fact that I don't think they love football. Honestly I think the both of them barely tolerate football. It's just a means to an end for them. Those type of dudes rarely make it to the league.
makes me sad for them. actually this show in general hits me in the feels sometimes. these kids killing their bodies, while hating it, but yet all probably looking at a tough future in life. hopefully at the very least they all graduate. Main goal for a kid like Ollie should be to not go back to his hometown.
Then you remember how he almost quit multiple times and then didn't want to keep playing unless it was in the SEC before Miss Brittany talked some temporary sense into him.
Maybe the last one? There's an episode where they follow up with most of the featured guys from last year.
So I just finished the finale. A few notes: The contrast between Wagner & Buddy at the end was interesting. I'll be interested to see where Coach Williams coaching career takes him. He strikes me as a very wise person because deep down I believe he doesn't agree with Buddy much. The OC stepping down and taking and admin role is pretty damn bizarre to me. The D.C. leaving for another position isn't too shocking. I miss the previous guy who is now at Troy. He had a take no shit personality. But wasn't a tyrant like Buddy.
I doubt any of them give a fuck. It's funnier to me that people watching can't understand black people.
With the success he has had at EMCC, if he wasn't a deplorable douche bag shouldn't Buddy have had some better offers by now? Or do JC coaching positions in Mississippi pay a lot more than I would imagine? I am shocked he hasn't made himself a package deal with a recruit.
I haven't seen anything in two seasons that show him to be an exceptional football mind. He wins because he has more talent. I doubt he's a great recruiter either. Not sure what he'd bring to a college program.
I've never seen him with any football ideas at all really. The extent of his coaching is SET THE EDGE and HOLD ON TO THE FUCKING BALLLLLL
Yeah, and again I know there's a lot we don't see. But they haven't shown him doing any real football strategy in two years. Maybe that's just not the show's focus.
And I'm certainly not trying to imply he'd be a good hire for a school like Alabama, OSU, FSU, or Clemson. But with how shady recruiting is in general, I am actually surprised he hasn't attached himself to a recruit.
Yeah I get it's editing. But you can tell that when shit goes bad and his only input is JUST FUCKING FIX IT and trying to pass the buck you can see that's the norm
To play devil's advocate, I would imagine they don't want strategy meetings aired. This is pretty much how the Showtime show with FSU and Notre Dame was from the episodes I saw, same with Hard Knocks.
That's a good point. He didn't offer anything to the DC when they were getting butt raped by the triple. Not even anything as generic as a schematic adjustment or personnel change.
Yeah. He just yelled at him to stop embarrassing the players like he himself has nothing to do with it
Seemed pretty clear to me that the offensive line was the problem. I didn't put much of that loss on the backup QB at all.
This was asked last season and it actually wasn't available even though it should be as he's a state employee.
It should be for all state employees, the issue could always be that he has another official title that we don't know. I do remember though, and probably posted earlier ITT but I'm too lazy took, but Miss Brittany's job at UMass only pays like $13/hr. I know her job is a lot more inclusive than the job at UMass, but I'd be shocked if she made more at EMCC than a state university like UMass would pay. That is a tough call with him being at Florida Atlantic. But I'd be surprised if he didn't make more than a Juco HC.
I've always read/heard the salaries are only disclosed here in south carolina if you make over a certain threshold
IIRC, the info was readily available for full time professors at the JC, but I won't speculate about Mississippi's records laws.
If you are good at reading these sorts of things, you might be able to figure it out from here.... http://www.eastms.edu/about/policies-notifications/Documents/2017-EMCC-budget-request.pdf
I had a friend tell me he probably makes 300k and I just couldn't believe it. I had a hard time believing he was making 100k
If I had to guess he's probably at least around 200. They have a big budget and they pay their coaches
Jeff Sims at Garden City (last year's national champion) made $80K in 2015. Coaches in the Jayhawk Conference range from 55k to 85K in 2015 according to this http://www.gctelegram.com/7bf9b6ef-743a-52c3-99d3-7f8a457a8f48.html Don't know what Buddy makes but it gives some scale.
It seems like the average professor at Mississippi Juco makes around $50k a year or so. Hard to believe he makes 4x that amount. From the chart I posted earlier, it seems like the entire budget for staff if is around $9m for the whole school.
They dump money into that football program. They have good sponsors and facilities. Dude gets paid, they're not average.
Tricket must be so damn happy to have moved. Now partying with Lane in SoFla. plus he brought De'andre Johnson down there with him.
