i'd love to hang out with guy and eat bbq, but not at the expense of having to attend a country music festival
wes tegg has confided in me numerous times that his favorite song is Wagon Wheel. Sometimes he’ll pm me just to remind me. “Subject: Favorite song. Body: Still Wagon Wheel.”
A day with Guy: Fire up the 67 Camaro, Load up some good eats and turn on the Beatles white album. Ready to roll out. My loins are already moist just thinking about that experience
They were talking about the picture above on XM yesterday. Taylor Zarzour who does the CFB morning show got word that Guy was in the building and wanted to get a pic for his kid who is a Guy's girl. He ran into him got it done and mentioned he was interviewing Reed. Apparently they fan boyed for each other which I find pretty funny.
Siap but has it been discussed that he never swallows on camera on DDD? Buddy recently told me that and now I cant watch it without noticing. They always cut before he swallows.
Eh, people recommend he visit places and he does. I’d rather he bite his tongue than trash some small business.
One of my favorite scenes. Cracks me up every time https://www.foodnetwork.com/videos/pizzeria-lola-sunnyside-pizza-0185013
So I assume him not swallowing isn't news? I've watched countless episodes and never noticed. Mind blown.
Eating isn't really the most TV friendly activity. You think he's just spitting all his bites up after chewing? They just edit it so he's taking a bite and then talking. Obviously he isn't going to eat every full meal put in front of him, but no one does on TV shows. It's not the point.
They never show them swallow on Chopped, either. I've been looking for it now that you brought this up.
You'll never be able to watch the show without looking for it. Every time you think "Ohhhh he's going to sw..." you'll get let down with a cut scene. If you happen to catch a slip, please relay that info so I can hunt down the episode.
This was the show I thought about when dbl mentioned that. Have definitely seen them swallow on Iron Chef tho.
Like his attitude or not, the guy was prolific in sharing food culture with the world. In that way, he and Guy were very similar. I’m sure Guy will have nothing but nice things to say about him.
For those that are team both, check out David Chang’s Ugly Delicious on Netflix. He’s got the wry wit and conviction of Bourdain with the lack of pretension of Guy.
