Yea the lack of doing anything with the caught leg was weird. He caught 2 and didn't do anything with either.
That sucks for UFC. They needed McGregor to be back at an elite level. They are pumping out cards every week but they have very few must watch guys right now.
Well Rogan's about the last person on earth that should roast someone for commenting on things they know very little about
I don't claim to get paid for my MMA analysis - but I am very confident I know more about it than Steven A.
WOW. I think the next two fights you book are Gaethje v Conor and Poirier v Chandler. That entire main was so weird. Dustin looked off in the first round, I was super confident Conor in the 2nd would come through. And now here we are. Maybe it’s like WWE, where it’s better for the sport to have the biggest star chasing the title. I’m kind of at a loss right now, didnt see that coming.
He boxed Nate Robinson recently. Yes, that Nate Robinson. He'd be murdered by any UFC fighter, male or female.
This is too uninteresting enough to even be a humble brag - but I know them somewhat. It's all publicity.
If I were conor I’d pick up the phone and call Floyd to set up one more PPV fleece in the square ring and call it a day after another big ass check.
Well you know when people are allowed to congregate once again and who the fook knows when that’s going to happen again.
Conor is done. Has too much money at this point. Same thing happened to Iron Mike. He's done well for himself.
definitely thought Poirier was shook early and didn't think he could hang, was terrified of eating a bomb and it being over ground game gave him some confidence, then connor just conceded some brutal leg kicks, he'd taken some shots himself and knew he could box with him, then it was a different fight
Yeah that’s true. I’m not sure why it’s so easy to forget that guy. Dana looks so shook in his post fight presser.
I think we watched different fights. Poirier didn't just start dominating. Conor was in control until one left bomb landed. The leg would have been an issue if it had gone longer but Poirier wasn't just outboxing him for 2 rounds before it ended. One left changed the entire fight. And the ground game did nothing. He didn't do any damage, just had him pressed against the cage for a minute. They exchanged shoulders but that was it on the ground.
the ground game gave Poirier confidence and he wasn't quite so hectic in his stand up after, even if he didn't actually accomplish anything it gave him room to breathe after being all over the place prior to the takedown I don't think Poirier started dominating but right as Connor clearly couldn't plant on his front leg Poirier started pushing the pace boxing wise, not conceding ground as readily as he didn't fear his power as much, etc. His entire boxing dynamic shifted.
I think Conor was also fairly gassed from the clinching against the cage and takedown defense in the 1st
I guess I'll have to go back and watch it again bc I didn't see a drastic change like you did. I saw one bomb left land and it was over. He threw some of those in the 1st and missed, even pointed at Conor after one of them. Conor was still landing big shots like 30 seconds before it ended. He caught 2 leg kicks shortly before it ended. Poirier just landed a big shot and that was it.
