It got up to 78 here today but I hear everybody's leaving California for Texas because freedom and taxes
I checked the other day to see if he tweeted anything about the Austin shooting and there was this: Is...is this humor?
I never lost power during winterpocalypse. Think I'm on a grid with a firestation nearby. I'll prob turn my air down to 60 tonight. "Fuck you as long as I get mine" is one of Texas' mottos I believe.
That’s because you’re part of the eastern interconnect which connects everything east of the Rockies. Crazy how cooperating with others works.
About a month back Ercot brought more customers into the grid from the panhandle. The area incorporated had about 3 times more demand than the area produced. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
this stuff does genuinely blow my mind because I guess I'm spoiled in Virginia. we bought our house in 2006 and I bet you the total amount of time spent without power in those 15ish years is maybe four or five days, of which about two days came from one specific event (hyperlocal, literally only affected our block). like, it's just not something that happens really happens where I have to worry about freezing to death or lacking potable water or dying of heat stroke and so on. christ, I have Comcast and I get 99.99% uptime on it in a given year. that people not only struggle in those situations but just accept it as part of life is wild to me. but I guess that's how the rest of the world looks at America and our almost innumerable problems relegating us to third-world status so I'm probably lacking perspective.
One good thing about living in hellhole that is TN is cheap and reliable government owned hydroelectric and nuclear power. Thanks FDR
Meanwhile, wheels is crowdsourcing donations to be controlled by the state for his shitty attempt at a wall.
Seriously though it won’t matter what you set your thermostat to…it’s gonna run when it’s that hot no matter the temp
can't even keep your power on but you can take donations for a fuckin border wall? is this performance art?
My parents just spent $15K for a while home generator because my mom wouldn’t stop whining and bitching about potentially losing food when electricity goes out for an extended period of time less than once a year. And by extended I mean like 12 hours.
